So, it's business as usual in the commonwealth of MA.

In other words, we're fucked. Mitt "I think I'm hot shit just because I did the Olympics" Romney is my new governor.

CEO's across the nation are tongue-kissing their accountants with glee.

Fuck. Fuck me. What are we going to do now?

The Republicans won across the board. What are we going to do now..........?

I am not a Republican, but I would ask you to elaborate on your views. How much confidence would the Democrats have inspired in you? How does Republican policy initiate fear? How does this affect you negatively?

p.s. I am not a demorat either.

Do you think a man, such as myself, would be able to refrain from voting? Of course I vote. I am proud to admit that I have never voted for a demoncat. There are a few alternatives, but none of them are realistic at this point. The Reform Party was the closest thing to a real third party we have had. Unfortunately, the 19% of the voted they obtained in the 1992 Presidential elections gave the presidency to a complete scumbag. A nation that depends on Hollywood for entertainment confused politics with tabloid gossip and Clinton won a second term. Most of the problems our nation faces is a direct result of 8 years of incompetence. The history books are not going to treat this man well, even after his countless attempts to hide his errors. They are just too grandiose to sweep under the rug. His entire administration can be compared to the cartoon character who cracked the dam and expends all his time and energy exhaustively trying to plug the holes. What we are seeing now with the growing Republican mandate is a reactionary movement in protest of that failed era. It was a golden age with unlimited potential, all wasted by an unthinking public. Perhaps they have learned their lesson. I only fear there is a new lesson to be learned around the corner.

My stategy this time was to vote republican across the board, in hopes of finishing of those weaklings in the Democratic party. Hopefully this will open the system up to a few more viable parties to compete with the Republicans. The Dems are finished. It could take a few more cycles, but I am sure we are witnessing a historical end of a long lasting political party. Mark my words.

Norman's right about the Dems. I've never seen someone run campaigns like that. They're fuckin' inept. Half of the population theoretically supports them, but it's mostly habit.

You can see now that there's a widening change of opinion in the US. People are willing to accept Republican rule, or they can't stand it. Since the only way to fight that now is through the Democratic Party, they get that vote. Anyway, the Dems are still full of cash so they won't die for awhile. They might even drift to the right or an actual Left platform. They sure as hell won't stay where they are now if they start acting like one Party.

Actually, it's all CRAP. Across the country about 40 % of registered voters voted. That is the problem I find with this last damn election. If 90% + of Americans voted you would not find a Republican anywhere. Most Americans are left leaners. The problem is, they don't vote!!!

The Democratic party is in shambles right now. I think they are beginning to rethink their strategy. You see, people like Shannon O'Brien (dem who ran for governor against Romney in mine and AK's beautiful state of Massachussetts) are currupt corporate puppets. She was a total insider into the beaurocratic bullshit system that exists on Beacon Hill in Boston. Romney is not necessarily an insider but his Republican views are only going to add to the shit at the state house.

Hopefully the Democratic party will understand what Paul Wellstone meant when he said that the democratic party had lost its soul. Now I'm not a democrat but I believe that true liberal democrats are going to be the ones who change this country. Us far-lefters are only there to add diversity to the mix. Hopefully we can influence the Democrats. Hopefully the Democrats were listening when Jill Stein (Green Party Candidate for Mass. Governor) got 3% of the vote.

I think this election was wake-up call to leftists. We need to demand the democratic party either go back to its liberal roots or join the republicans. We are in desperate need of a charismatic democrat to lead this country in the right direction.

Sorry kids but I really can't see that there is much difference between the republican and democratic parties in the US. You either vote for the puppet on the right or the puppet on the far right. Your country has bombed sovereign lands killing innocent civilians regardless of who's in the white house. As far as I can tell, the only difference is that the republicans are a lot more open about their imperialist aspirations.

Good theory SN, I've never thought of it like that before. Although I do hate seeing people going for the Republicans. I am not close to being called a conservative, but from the other types of conservatives there are out there, the Republicans give conservatism a bad name.

thats cause our winner takes all system encourages political parties to take the most center of the road policies to get the largest number of ppl to vote for them. Nobody wants to alienate the other side by going too extreme in one direction or the other.

the best form is government is the one that governs least.
