Got a job with Blue Arrow agency (in the UK) working as a temp in catering. Does anyone know which union organises there? Unite maybe?

Also, Im sure I heard in my interview for it the guy saying I was working 12 - 8 for the shifts (apart from Friday, when we'd be back earlier, as we might be going in earlier.

I left at 8 tonight, and texted to tell my rep I was confirming for tommorow and she said that today wasn't 12 - 8, that on a sales night it was "12 until it finishes". The place is in Ayr and seeing as I live in Paisley I can't stay down there well into the night, so is this legal?

Itīs actually illegal for temps to go on strike or take part in indsutrial action. As your job will change regularly you canīt join a trade union, so my reccomendation is to join the IWW, which is a legally recognised industrial union.

Yep, IWW or form an unofficial workplace rank and file group with fellow temps. I think a combination of both is most efficient.
