US counterinsurgency manual from wikileaks:

How to train death squads and quash revolutions from San Salvador to Iraq
http://wikileaks.org/wiki/How_to_train_death_squads_and_quash_revolutions_fr om_San_Salvador_to_you

"The manual directly advocates training paramilitaries, pervasive surveillance, censorship, press control and restrictions on labor unions & political parties. It directly advocates warrantless searches, detainment without charge and (under varying circumstances) the suspension of habeas corpus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Habeas_corpus). It directly advocates employing terrorists or prosecuting individuals for terrorism who are not terrorists, running false flag operations and concealing human rights abuses from journalists."

Does this come as a surprise to anyone? We’ve known that they’ve been doing this for decades, and we know that they continue to do it today; I suppose this is just yet more evidence. I’ll have to show this to some of my liberal friends and see what they have to say for themselves now given support of such a brutal regime.

The amazing thing about a document of this nature being leaked is that we now have proof that this official policy, and we know what the specifics of that policy are.
