Introducing "CHECHENZ WITH ATTITUDES":

Proud to Be a Chechen, Yall!

President Vladimir Putin may have succeeded in using the so-called "anti-terrorist campaign" in the breakaway Caucasus republic of Chechnya to rally Russian voters behind his dirty election campaign, but Chechen forces continue in their struggle, repeatedly inflicting heavy Russian casualties through guerilla campaigns in the mountains and in those regions that the Russians claim already to have "liberated." Having previously set aside their differences to unite in fighting for the survival of their people, elected Chechen President Aslan Maskhadov and respected field commander Shamil Basayev, together with the Jordan-born warlord known as Khattab, have now prepared a new response to Putins bloody campaign: Chechenz with Attitudes!

Joining together with Grozny-based trance and hip hop DJ Dr. Dzhokar back in February, the three warriors adopted the hip hop aliases "Ice" Basayev, MC Khattab, and "Eazy" Aslan in order to write and record "Straight Outta Grozny." Although Russian radio airplay has predictably been denied, the group convened in Moscow for a ferocious live performance at the eXiles recent 3rd Anniversary Party (just days after Basayev lost his right foot in the campaign), with more shows planned for the near future.

In the meantime, "Straight Outta Grozny" is now available for download in MP3 format. The controversial lyrics are reprinted below--along with an English translation of MC Khattabs Russian verse and some helpful annotations explaining some of the background).

TOO BLACK. TOO STRONG. TOO CHECHEN.

CHECHENZ WITH ATTITUDES "STRAIGHT OUTTA GROZNY"*

When something happens in the North Caucasus, nothing happens...
it's just another President gettin' hisself elected

"Ice" Basayev: Straight outta Grozny

Crazy motherfucker called Basayev
From the gang called Chechenz With Attitudes
When I'm called off with my Kalashnikov
Squeeze the trigger and the bodies are hauled off
You too, Putin, if you fuck with me
Your FSB is gonna hafta come and get me
Over the border, that's how I'm goin' out
Seize a hospital on TV, that's showin' out!
Russians wanna take us in a week
Were cuttin' off their fingers and frying em into shashlik!
Goin' off on a hostage like that...
With a beard that's growin' to the floor
And what's more...
You can check my right foot at the door
Here's a murder rap to keep you mellow
With a crime record like Chikatilo
Hexagen is the tool
To explode your neighborhood preschool
TV News -- showed me with my beard on
Negotiating with Viktor Chernomyrdin
On the news weekly monthly yearly
Till those dumb Russian monkeys see clearly
That I'm down with the capital B-A-B...
Boy you can't fuck with me!
So when I'm in your village you'd better duck
Cause Basayev is crazy as fuck
When I leave, nobody knows me
But when I come back boy, I'm comin' straight outta Grozny

[chorus]

City of Grozny, city of Grozny

Dr. Dzhokar: , , ?
Yo Khattab... tell em where youre from!

MC Khattab: .
Another crazy bastard from the city Grozny

MC --
MC Khattab -- Im serious and ya knows me

...
Extremely... we'll wait for nighttime

-
Thats when we'll slaughter every last whitey

In my hands two grenades and a pistol

s, ,
Plus my semi-automatic and an AK machine gun

, , , ...
I slaughter, explode, suffocate, and I murder...

You bet your ass I'm evil, no reason to be furtive

:
My name is MC Khattab:

Ż, , » ѻ!
"Kh," "A," two "T"s and "AB"!

,
You know Im as nasty as can be

So think twice before you mess with me

My grandfather was old man Khattabych

A world renowned terrorist, everybody paid homage

That don't mean blowin' up an orphanage

He scratched his beard and soon everywhere was carnage

- ٻ
Some people they try to call me a "nigger"

Those paleface fucks are just flat out dick-less

- ٻ
Some people they try to call me a "black-ass"

!
Yeah, Ill fuck them in the ass!

That Basayevs been getting on my nerves

He must be a bit worn out like the Kurds

Recently we had ourselves a minor disagreement

So I grabbed him and bit off his foot, now hes in treatment

-,
I set the timer for exactly one-thirty

Hexagen is my favorite word

Soon Moscow will be nothing but catacombs

-- !
Hey brothers -- I done set the bomb!

[chorus]

Dr. Dzhokar: Aslan is his name and the boy's comin...

"Eazy" Aslan: Straight outta Grozny...
Comes a Muslim who'll blow off your bosom
And make your sister shave my cousin
Dangerous general raisin' hell
I played that pussy Lebed like a bell
See I don't give a fuck, that's the problem!
I see a TV journalist -- yo, I don't dodge him
But I'm smart, I act like the victim
And when the news comes out, I sees I tricked him
To me it's kinda funny, these Russian tactics
Drive their tanks into Grozny get their ass kicked
Just rollin', lookin' for the one they call Aslan
But here's a flash, they never catch on
Im Stylish! Never seen without my tall furry hat...
Except in a mosque
You see, I attack without hesitation
I hear the screams of the last decapitation
With my stinger, I shoot a Russian jet down
And then we hit the town, you know it's time to get down
So what about the ***** who got shot? Fuck her!
You think I care about a Russian *****? I ain't a sucker!
This is the biography of the A
And if you ever fuck with a
Hairy ass Chechen who's got five divisions
You'll see I'm on a mission...
Straight outta Grozny

[chorus]

Is it "hilarious" that 90 innocent people were just killed, after watching a play?

IHP,

What's hilarious is that commies have no reading skills. Recheck the lyrics. It portrays the Chechen rebels for what they are - a band of brutal thugs with little other than murder and mayhem in mind. I'm certainly backing the Russians in this war. My wife would kick my ass if I were to back Chechnya.

I didn't bother to read on. I just checked the link and realized that these weren't your words, but the articles.

The same Russians that massacred at least 100,000 Chechens and the same ones who killed at least 118 hostages?

Solzhenitsyn

The same Chechens that have indiscrimately slaughtered thousands of people for no other reason than they're guilty of the crime of being Russian? The same Chechens who are busy installing a Taliban style terror regime? The same Chechens who got caught faking "mass-grave" videos. If you love Chechnya so much then make the move to downtown Grozny and where either a sickle and hammer shirt or Orthodox cross. I'll be glad to stay behind and prepare your grave.

What a dumbass post Solzy. What are you talking about? What has it got to do with socialism? Please specific.

Here's a clue.

The Chechen war imperialist eyes on the oil

Russian boasts of military victory in Chechnya are ringing hollow as days, weeks and months roll by and the war continues. In December Russian officials declared they would seize Grozny, the capital, by Christmas Day. They soon found the city a difficult battleground and kept issuing new dates by which time they would have the city in their hands.

The Chechens know their city intimately and have used the maze of streets and deep underground bunkers in Grozny to their advantage. The Russian troops number 93,000 and are heavily armed but they are fighting an unjust war and are not on home ground. They do not enjoy the support of the people and are exposed to ambushes and guerrilla tactics which the Chechens are using with success.

With the break-up of the Soviet Union many of the states of the Caucasus region, including Chechnya, claimed independence. Yeltsin, imperialist to the core, did not recognise the right of the Chechens to independence and in December 1994 launched a war against them. But the might of the Russian military could not defeat the tiny nation of 800,000. After two years of bitter fighting the war ended in a humiliating defeat for Russia.

Eyeing oil reserves

Chechnya is rich in oil, so too are its neighbouring states and imperialist eyes are trained on these vast reserves. There are also substantial gas supplies in the region. Russia wants to secure these resources for itself, so do the US imperialists. While there is competition between Russia and the US over the Caucasus region they are united in labelling the Chechen independence fighters as terrorists. The US and the European Union issued a statement in December decrying Russias military actions but recognising Russias right to uphold its territorial integrity and to defend its citizens from terrorism and lawlessness. In January the UN head, Kofi Annan, also issued a protest against Russia which condemned the Chechen fighters as terrorists: The UN recognises the need to fight terrorism, but at the same time we must pay as much attention as possible to defending the rights of peaceful civilians.

The Marxist-Leninist position is, naturally, quite different. It was clearly presented by Lenin in a number of works: that nations have the right to self-determination, including the right to secede. Marxist-Leninists seek voluntary union, not forced union or annexation. The Russian state and its Communist Party gave up Marxism-Leninism long ago in the 1950s, and have ever since applied the policies of imperialism. In the period of phoney communism the national minorities were not treated as equal partners, they were exploited and oppressed by Russian chauvinism. Resentment and rebellion followed and the fracture of the Soviet Union was then inevitable.

Kosovos lessons

As for the independence forces in Chechnya there are various factions, but it appears none are Marxist-Leninist. Nevertheless, the Chechens have the right to self determination, and are laying down their lives for that cause. There is a lesson which can be learned from the Kosovo war: that independence will not be served by alignment with another imperialist power. The Kosovars, after appealing to Nato for help in their liberation struggle are now under the rule of Nato and are being denied the right to self determination and are told they must remain a part of the Serb republic.

Over the past decade the oil magnates have been greedily claiming new territories in the Caucasus. There are the oil giants from America such as Exxon, Unocal and Pennzoil. These three are part of the Azeri International Operating Company, which includes a Russian company Lukoil. In Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan Chevron, Texaco and Mobil are operating.

For genuine independence the Chechen people will need to guard against all the imperialist powers, including those dressed in United Nations garb. Far from being a neutral mediator in disputes the United Nations is little more than a mouthpiece for US imperialism, as the Gulf War showed.

Nuclear blackmail

Yeltsin has now gone but his hand-picked successor, Vladimir Putin, is pursuing the same imperialist path. If anything, Putin is demonstrating a more aggressive stance than his predecessor. In January Russias officials announced a new military doctrine which declared a willingness to use nuclear weapons, not as a defensive last resort, but in a military offensive to repel armed aggression when all other means have been exhausted. The Russian regime is clearly trying to restore its superpower status. While the Russian economy is far from superpower stature the countrys nuclear arsenal is still considerable with around 770 intercontinental ballistic missiles, 21 nuclear armed submarines and nuclear bombers.

In The Spark November 1999 we estimated the Chechens would wage a protracted guerrilla war and that the people of the region would continue their fight for independence. To that we now add the expectation that the Russian people will grow intolerant of the heavy casualties of the war (numbering thousands) and will organise far more opposition to the Governments war mongering.

That's too bad for the 40% of the Chechen polulation that happens to be Russian and have no desire to experience the joys of Shir'ah or being slaughtered by the trio of brutal imbeciles (Basayev, Khattab, and Alsan) and their imported band of brigands. 3/5 of the "Chechen Freedom Fighters" are from the Middle East.

Oil does have it's part - which is why the Chechens are backed by Saudi Arabia that plans to fulfill a wish for radical Islamicists to gain more leverage in OPEC.

2 things: Khattab is dead for about 4 months already. And Chechens are not islamists. They are muslims but moderate. If you knew more about the thing and would not just citate articles written by people with biases then you would know that! Of course there are also fundamentalist muslims in Chechnya but they are in total minority. Do you know any Chechens at all to talk about that???
Go to the most objective Chechen site (not a pro Russian, not a pro Arab) and check it out: www.ichkeria.org

Khattab is dead for about 4 months already.

I knew the Spetsnaz and broken up Khattab's inner-ring but thought Khattab himself was still on the lam somewhere in Turkey. Basayev, Jr. just got whacked in Moscow because of that stupid stunt he pulled. Aslan and Basayev Sr. are nowhere to be found. The lastest rumors in Russia involve reactivation of Cossack regiments (the Terek Cossacks to be exact) that will rather forcefully evict the Chechens from the land given to them by Brezhnev. Needless to say this is a smashing idea as the Cossacks excel at this type of warfare.

They are muslims but moderate. If you knew more about the thing and would not just citate articles written by people with biases then you would know that! Of course there are also fundamentalist muslims in Chechnya but they are in total minority.

Of course Muslims claim that Iran, Sudan, and Afganistan where all places with an overwhelming moderate Muslim majority. That still didn't prevent the Mullah Omar, Ayatollah Komenei and whatever brutal thug runs Sudan from coming to power. You have to ask yourself what factions are clamouring for independence in Chechnya and all of those are packed to the brim with Khattab wannabe's. What about the Russian population?

great post Solzhenitsyn, very funny indeed!
I back the Russians all the way over these Chechen Islamic fanatics. This is Russian territory and these foreign mercenaries attempt to usurp it through violence and terrorism. What they have done to the civilians is disgusting. If they didn't try and invade neighbouring Georgia then maybe Puting wouldn't have send the troops in again. Imperialism manifests itself in different forms...

I think Solzhenitsyn's current avatar looks less evil than his old one.

Why? It's still Alexandr Solzhenitsyn. The old avatar was A.I. Solzhenitsyn in his GULAG uniform. The newer one is him during the '70s.
