View Full Version : Paul wellstone dies - A great liberal senator

Paul Wellstone recently died in a plane crash. I think it's trajedy, he was definitely my favorite senator, he was for the people, and he would vote true to his liberal values, like he voted against the war in Iraq (which i thought he had actually voted fo) because of his convections, he didn't vote a political vote.
He also was strongly opposed ot nafta and gatt and he was against Clinton sending troops to Haiti.
Wellstone represented what liberalism should be, leftist mixed with compassion. I really liked wellstone and he wrote a book called conscience of a liberal that was excellent.
Now there is a lot of speculation on what will happen with his seat, in Minnessota you can replace a candidate on the ballot within four days of the election, 13 days away they are talking about running walter mondale or something, I think it's actually a good chance for the republican candidate to win the seat, Coleman was running against wellstone, that fuck, hand picked by bush, he's a far rightist. this is what their campaign had to say about wellstones death ''Our prayers are with the Wellstone family. That's all I'm going to say.'' I don't like the sound of that. Not "let's put politics aside and remember wellstone" or "it's a trajedy, wellstone raised the level of politics and political debates through his honesty and dedication, and standing up for whta he believes." I gurantee they think fucking God committed this against liberals.
Anyway, it really fucking sucks to see a good senator go, wellstone was good on many issues.

It is sad that his wife and kid were killed, but the man did more harm to this country than imaginable. Another commie bites the dust, oh well. He was probably slipping in the polls, and refused to step down and let someone more appealling take his position. The democrats probably had the guy whacked in order to retain the senate seat.

I never claimed to be considerate of communist filth. I call things like I see them. I am not going to pretend to like this man simply because he died. My opinion of him has not changed. Leave it to the media outlets to lionize this man, but don't look to me for anything but the truth.
In case your wondering why I haven't left for the evening, It is because I am waiting on members of the opposite sex. God damn, they are slow.

Storm Norman is a moron, there is so much wrong with his retarded theories that it would take way too much of my time to point them out. They contradict common sense, the political line, and even his own rhetoric. Here is a short explanation though:
First of all, the guy was alone with many of his votes, it was always 97 to 1 or 98 to 2, he was always the dissenter so how he could he have hurt the country with liberalism? he wasn't a speaker for liberalism, though he was passionate debater in the senate. The only thing he's guilty of is improving public schools, improving mental health facilities, getting big money out of politics (he didn't take from global crossing or enron), forcing republicans to comprimise with him in minnesota etc... The people of Minnesota loved Wellstone, much more than the repubican fuck before him. If stormin' were to talk this way there he would have his head kicked in.
Second, the guy was leading in the polls, he was down a few weeks before, barely, but at the time he died he had a 5 point lead. Why would liberals want to take out the most liberal guy in the senate, if democrats are ultra liberals, as republicans say they are, they would take it with pride that an ultra liberal beat out a corporate top dog republican when he came in and was in two terms, and was leading the race in Minnesota. You make no fucking sense. It's because democrats have moved to the right that wellstone is seen as "left", he was actually left but close to center, democrats being either center or moderate rightist. A political scientist would laugh at storming retarded view of the political line.
Bu$h had him taken out because wellstone opposed iraq, bush wants his oil money.
"I never claimed to be considerate of communist filth. I call things like I see them. "
Yah, socialists and democrats call things like they are. Your view on politics is that of capitaism, i.e. anything that is against it is left wing. So this wellstone with his vote on nafta and gatt automatically means he's a communist, but that would mean pat buchanon was communist because he's an isolationist, or that would mean an ameircan libertarian, who might be opposed to nafta and gatt because it is managed free trade, was also a communist, even though he's a capitalist. Anybody differnet is a commie to fucking retarded conservatives. This lowers the political debate in america to childish name calling. The conservative society would never work, setting up regimes to enforce capitalism and sweat shops and to block leftist thought, enforcing christianity (anybody who is opposed is a communist), corny capitalism (although it's hard to tell the difference between crooked capitalism and real capitalism), racist politics, banning anything christians don't like so etc...
it doesn't work, school vouchers to prop up corrupt christian private schools, christianity banning things they dont like and only selling things they approve of through capitalism, no personal choice, invading peoples privacy, setting up bills that do not allow debate because of how they are named (patriot act), it goes on and on. Conservatives try and make people unaware of politics with those tactics and try and confuse people with "patriot act", also with their disinfranchising minorities and redistricting congressional elections (taking democratic neighborhoods out of a district and putting them in republican ones is their new tactic), they cheat to win. the only people that act like the corrupt ussr is conservatives. They wouldn't win much if they didn't cheat.
That's part one of stormins political mental retardation part 2 is for tomorrow.
"Leave it to the media outlets to lionize this man, but look to me for anything but the truth.
"
Pffft, dumb fuck. It's "don't look to me for anything but the truth," we'll look to you for retarded politics yes.
"I case your wondering why I haven't left for the evening, It is because I am waiting on members of the opposite sex. God damn, they are slow.
"
Retarded christian women, yes they are slow, and fat, and lazy, don't generalize all women because a few of them have been brainwashed by christianity and are now fat and lazy.
Not liberal women thouh, liberal women are sexy.
It's sad though, stormin is like 22? 23? stormin is 30 years old, just getting his generals at the community college, and he can barely handle political debate at a website that is 90% teenagers, in fact most of the time he gets taken to school. Then he writes a good bye because he's been owned and makes up some story he's going on vaction, so he can use ad hominem attacks, then comes back the next day and makes up some story about his daughter or something that he doesn't have, no one seems to care though, i'm sick of it.
Lets start having debate around here, ban stormin, we need one capitalist here not three that use the same conservative party-line propoganda over and over, then a new capitalist, a libertarian one will come, and we'll debate him.

Yeah I am TS, god damn, sorry I got so angry, but you know you can't talk shit about wellstone, a couple republicans were speaking out in international studies a few days ago, they got their heads kicked in, not to advocate kicking the heads of conservatives in, but if you call me a monster for being stalinist, as if stalinists are uncaring and unsympathetic, you certainly have alot of nerve doing the same thing.
You wouldn't believe how pissed off I was when you wrote "he was gonna be voted out anyway" or something like that, I'm not reading your post again or I'll get pissed off again, because it is stupid to say that.
Yeah, maybe the media did overblow the whole thing, but you should atleast show respect or keep your mouth closed. Do you fucking say things like this at moments that don't need insensitive comments? My god, I think you're must've either found deaf women or women who are more assholeish than you.
Sometimes, you just keep your mouth closed, I kept my mouth closed after 9/11, you keep your mouth closed about this, it might not seem like a big deal to non-minnesotans but to us it is, so shut up.

I didn't like the man, but I must respect his uncompromising nature. Much like me, he was relentless in defending his positions, no matter how wrong the views he held.

Democrats lost only because wellstone.
St. Louis County, (my county) was the only county to have every precient vote overwhelmingly democrat.

The Dems lost because they didn't present an alternative to the Republicans.
