:blushing: I'm just trying to learn about Che since I still haven't been taught about it in school after 11 years. :confused:I just want to know why people like him if he worked with Castro and is a communist.
I just want to know why people like him if he worked with Castro and is a communist.
Because he liberated Cuba with Fidel Castro from American imperialism .
They transformed the Cuban society from a society of ignorant peasants to a society of doctors, scientists etc.
Because socialism brought huge advancements to the cuban economy.
Because socialism brought healthcare , education housing etc!
Because even though Cuba is isolated it still has better living conditions that the neighbouring countries because of socialism!
In case you asked why people -who are normaly against communism due to their ignorance- like him then the answer is that he is handsome !

Yes he is. Another quick question, why do people think communism is bad or is main topic of this forumn socialism. first thing I though was "Wow, Stalin is an asshole".
why do people think communism is bad or is main topic of this forumn socialismSocialism and communism are interconnected . Socialism is the path to communism.
Communism is a stateless classless society while socialism is a society with a state that slowly fades away.
In socialism workers manage the factories and the other means of production democratically with elected and recallable officials .
Communism is a society of abundance.
People "hate" socialism because of all the media
propaganda against it and because of the Soviet Union being a pseudo socialist state, which was authoritarian with no democracy .
The only people who conciously hate socialism are the parasitic capitalist class. The owners of the means of production.
first thing I though was "Wow, Stalin is an asshole".Yes he was!
for more info , you can do some reading on :

Because socialism brought huge advancements to the cuban economy.
Cuba's economy wasn't socialist, it was state capitalist. Furthermore, didn't the economy go severely downhill after the 'revolution'?
Note: this isn't me having a go at the Cuban economy per se, its not as if i'm a supporter of Batista.

It went downhill for the capitalists and gangsters, not that communists would care. It improved over time for workers and peasants.

:)Wow you guys seem to know a lot and you all are helpful and all but you keep contradicting each others comments and to be honest it's confusing me. :(
So I'll just go some where else for now to find my own truth, but that doesn't mean I won't be around. Viva La Revolucion!

There are a wide range of tendancies in the revolutionary leftist movement. I think it would be important for you to stick around if you want to know about communism, because the people here will more or less offer you a comprehensive viewpont on historical issues and many different stances on theory, which really complement each other to exemplify the strengths, weaknesses and contrasts in the spectrum.
I found Erich Fromm (http://marxists.org/archive/fromm/index.htm) to be the most helpful in expanding my own views and understanding of leftist ideology.

thats the best you can do.Base in your own opinion and dont "take" the opinion of others and make them yours.Of course asking is good and listening the oppinions of others but is better to have a better look at it yourself and have your wn opinion and be sure about it and not because someone say it to you,he may be wrong!;)Stay around, post and your questions and this gona certenly help you as it helps everyone!;)

Che was a romantic figure. Made a good picture. Penned the main theories on guerrilla war. Plus he traveled the war fighting with other movements. A stalinist dumbass to a large degree, but an interesting one regardless.
