It's almost voting time, and i want to encourage the socialists and communists who are registered to vote to get out and vote.
I have a simple plan where you can vote Democratic and still maintain your Communist values. The senate is in danger of becoming republican controlled, the house has a chance to become democratic, people seem to be upset with BUSH on the economy, not the democrats, and that's why bush is declaring war on other countries to distract the american people from talking about domestic issues, they even have oprah talking about "war on iraq" now.
Anyway, if the democrats gain control of the senate and house, that will show that the american people are concerned about the economy, which they are, and it will help to block the extreme right-wing policies that resident bush has been trying to enforce on the american people, like right-wing social issues like banning abortion, and like the way he wants to help the corporations to hold the americans hostage with oil politics. He has to drill in the artic because of suv's and the governments rejection to look into alternative sources of energy. The democrats blocked his anti-enviornment politics.
I know socialists believe that once you implement socialism the enviornment problem would be fixed, we'd do what's best for the enviornment, which is true, but we should indeed protect what we can now and vote democrat instead of letting it go to a party that is completely anti-environment.
Now you see why it's good to vote democrat, so heres an idea..
1. In elections that are extremely close, vote democratic:
Florida
Governor: Bill McBride over Jeb Bush (asshole)
Minnesota
Senate: Paul Wellstone over Norm Coleman
New Jersey
Senate: Frank Lautenberg over Douglas Forrester
Missouri
Senate: Jean Carnahan over Jim Talent
Colorado
Senate: Tom Strickland over Wayne Allard
Iowa
Senate: Tom Harkin over Greg Ganske
Georgia
Senate: Max Cleland over Saxby Chambliss
Oregon
Senate: Bill Bradbury over Gordon Smith
Texas
Senate: Ron Kirk over John Cornyn
If you live in those areas, vote for those democratic senators, or at least encourage your parents to vote.
Especially Minnessota, Paul wellstone is pro enviornment, pro independent farmer, and anti-capitalist policy (wto, nafta, ftaa, etc..).
A green party candidate is running there too, which might cost the election for wellstone, which is senseless, which brings us to step two however.
2. If you live in a state where you're %90 sure either a democrat or a republica has it locked in, just vote for the green candidate. Greens are running all over the country, they are the third larges tparty in america, and the green party itself is split between communists and democratic socialists and such (there are two green parties in america, the smaller one belonging to the communists).
However, in those close elections, I don't think it's the best idea to vote for them.
Especially in minnesotta, wellstone has shown some leadership although he wrongfully seems to support israel and a war in iraq. Even so, he's vision for america itself is quite good, and he's one of the most liberal senators in america, it will be bad if he loses, and it makes no sense to run a green where you might end up giving it to a party that cares nothing about the environment.
Nader's run was justified, he was running against two right-wingers, and he helped bring out a lot of new voters that ended up electing a democratic senator (the people voted nader usually voted for democratic senators if no green was running).
And indeed if a socialist is running you can vote for him as a write in candidate.
3. Voting does help, especially if you vote in groups. What doesn't help is sitting around here debating the same capitalists over and over again, they are probably one in the same. I dont care if they have different ip's, probably storming is using one ip at work and one at home, or they are "buddies" through aol instant messenger. It's quite clear capitalists own internet debate, because they copy and paste from libertarian books over and over agian, they never come up with their own ideas, look at maxb, he posts from libertarianism: the unknown ideal, he doesn't debate anybody directly because he doens't know how to.
The working class and real communist/socialists dont have time to flood message boards and vote repeatedly in intenret polls.
Don't become too wrapped up in internte politics and refuse to vote.
Look at it this way, when libertarians go to vote and a libertarian fascist/capitalist isn't running, who do you think the scum vote for? Republicans.
By not voting you're just tying your own rope. Just vote for the democrats who have stood up against bush on iraq (senator roberty byrd, he evne said by votingfor vietnam it was a mistake and he's not going ot vote again), or vote for one of the many democrats who talk about holding corporations accountable, or vote green, greens won %25 of the offices they ran for in 2000.
Personally, I will be voting green for district 2--it's a close race here and the republicans have redesigned it, cutting out the democratic neighborhoods and putting in republican ones, cheating just like how they cheated in florida because they can't win otherwise (even the republican senator here, benitt, said it was a disgrace)--simpley because i hate the democratic candidate who is running, he was for the Bu$h tax cut.
And then some democrat for state senate. parents doing the same.
Also i recommend bashing in a few republican yard signs, i've bashed ina few steve poullton ones, that mormon fuck, and i found it liberating. NOthing wrong with a little political mischief. Just go around with spray paint, a base ball bat (i use a billy club), and look for the signs with the elephant.
