I met a guy on the plane who was stating how the US in violation of 91 UN resolutions in Israel, but they feel a preemptive strike is neccesary against Iraq becasue they are in violation of numerous resolutions?? who knows what the deal is here? I will look into matters for myself, but I was looking for some quick opinion and or fact. thanks.

The UN resolutions are a bullshit agenda platform used to justify the UN dragging its feet on just action against Iraq.
We should not wait for the UN's go-ahead to invade Iraq again. Saddam's WMD's and WMD programs must be found and destroyed, and our petroleum interests in the region must also be secured.
U.S. soveriegnty will not be compromised.

thats the problem with an opinion like that. You always think about yourself. Greed is the ultimate basis for capitialism. Your oil refineries are more imp. than ppls lives. THe UN resolutions need to be enforced with stricter penalties, if a country breaks a rule then sanctions can be applied etc etc.

this is CI...
the UN will not dream of imposing sanctions on the United States
We accomodate no one.
We dictate the pace of the game.

Likewise, the UN will not impose restrictions upon the US' European Allies. She needs them. Without European support the US will not have support even from her own cultural cousins.
(This is assuming that the US truly does 'set the pace')

the power to vito really undermines the UN's powers. You saw it in the cold war, US vs USSR each vitoing each others requests etc. Something has to be done to keep order otherwise the US can try and build the empire she craves. 'oh oh lets dip our fingers in this country and this one and this and that ohh lets have the whole world!!"

C'mon, Wenty, the USA is no longer in the business of territorial imperialism, you know that.

well, sorry Izm I don't know, but i do know that the Un has way less power over any and all countries, be they The Yanquies in America or even over Burma, then they like to act. The truth is that there is no global control. Bussinesses like the World Bank and the United Fruit Company are running rampant, naked and free all over the world and the proletariat and even alot of the Bourgiousie are catching trouble and hardship for it. The un really needs to be more powerful if it can stop the G8 nations.
