That story-analogy is full of fallacies and is highly incomplete in its analysis of capitalism.

Precisely what fallacies? If you want a full analysis, try reading a longer text. Nobody in their right mind would call it complete but it captures the gist of the legalised theft that is capitalism. Capitalism is much worse than this story suggests.

Lets say you crash land on a planet, and this being comes up to you, and says. "this is how it is"...

...he gives you a job assisgnment, and forces you to work. It does not matter whether or not you actually want to do the job assigned to you, as you cannot just chose to change occupations.

Unlike the cleverly left out part of the system in RC's weblink, you cannot but your own propety here, you are assigned a shoddy apartment, and all food and resources are also directly distributed to you by who you work for as well. Another part left out in RC's story was that on that other planet, you could actually choose to be the boss and enjoy the freedom of determning your own destiny.

On this planet, however, such an opportunity does not exist.

Often times distributed resources are scarce, but it always seems the boss himself lives well. You have no choice in the products you consume or use. As you can see, freedom is at a minimum.

Now that you think about it, on the other planet, not only did you make enough "grups" to live, but you could also buy a lot of extras, and do enjoyable things, as your living standard was much better.

On this new planet, though, famine runs rampant, and sometimes you wait several hours in line just for a meal.

there is no other "colleague"(sic) to work for, you only have 1 choice

If you try to dissent or speak out against your boss, you will be punished, possibly imprisoned. You may work 5x as hard and smart as your co-worker, but you will both be compensated the same.

There is no freedom of information, either, all media sources are run by the same boss.

Sound like a good deal?

I'll give you 1 guess as to what this system is!!!

Oh so it is a recession or depression in the market, 6.8 percent or higher unemployment, that is what you mean by "Often times distributed resources are scarce. People want to work but the market can't provide or doesn't want to provide because why? "it always seems the boss himself lives well." . The rich remain rich, or "the boss" as you say. Golden Parachute and all. Like Tyco and Enron, and all the CEOs. I gotcha. Well D'uh that is capitalism. Okay the next part.

"There is no freedom of information, either, all media sources are run by the same boss." Well sure that is like CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, Fox News, all ran by the same Boss, the insanely rich. Who don't report about the abuses of their power.

I'll give you 1 guess as to what this system is!!!

D'uh capitalism.

sounds like CI has read far too many "Communists ate my baby!" novels.

I liked the flash though, it pretty much sums it all up.

I'm with CI on this one...it isn't a very good analogy.

I'll make this really simple for everyone.

One society is a utopia and has Jay Mohr in it.

The other is hell and there is no Jay Mohr in it, figure it out.

oh for the love of god, it's a flash animation that describes something... I never said it's "gospel in a cartoon" or the second coming of christ...

too much melodrama and not enough reality...

You never said it wasn't either. You should note, that prior to every post you should include the following, "THis is a new gospel to live by" or "This is not a new testement" or something to that effect.

You can only blame yourself for this total lack of effort on your part. :P
