man, it's a mind-trip to just sit there hitting 'refresh'... watching the numbers in the tens of thousands go up every second.

Well, each citizens dept is gone up to $21,729.20 now.
The dept was $6,240,202,930,608
It is now: $6,276,586,333,715.34
Not so bad. It's only gone up 36 million in 31 days.

the national debt is a paper tiger.
no one can enforce it, and our GDP comps for it as well.

no one can enforce it,
Who writes your jokes?
So you are advocating dishonerable practices? Not surprising.

americas benefits and contributions to the world far outweigh its debts
america is also owed billions, too

blah, blah, blah....
If you owe people money, you ought to pay them back. I'm not saying you are the only country that owes money or anything, but making statements like "no one can enforce it" is not very intelligent.
It's stupid.
It's also quite amusing, the way some nationalists/racists go on about America superiority and perfection, while this contradicts that.

hmmm.....
i thought about this for a long time and i decided that when acting in national interest, it hardy counts as a contrabution. but then i said "what the hell, let national interst count too". and then i thought and thought. **thinking**
**thinking**
**thought**
well, i concluded that the U$ has made no significant contrabutions. (unless you count 2 nukes to japan, hegemony over the americas, unbridled dictatorship over the UN, the invention of the light bulb, the creation of a 350 year slave trade, genocide on at least two counts, "manifest destiny", imperialism, etc.)
wait, in retrospect, maybe the world is better because of us. BETTER LOOKING. we look like crap...

it's just that the vast majority of truly revolutionary inventions in technology and culture within the last 100 years have come from the USA
it is obviously not just a coincindence

in a way, it is, but it also provides the most freedom and opportunity to cross class barriers. like any system, there is a trade off

The only class barriers that capitalism gives people (scabs) an oppurtunity to cross are picket lines.

I agree that it sounds nice in theory, but it's currently not working in practice. Companies end up getting monopolies. I'm a social democrat, which means I support people who want to start their own buisniesses, but I don't like it when they start their corporate imperialism. That makes starting a buisniess hard.

Unless of course your talking about that better electronic television that EMI developed.

Yes, the national debt will be lowered considerably once Europe (and others) pays us the billions and billions they owe us.

starting a business is not hard. thousands do it every day. you rent a facility, you buy a business licennce. as a matter of fact, the US is the easiest nation on earth in which to start a business. what is your logic?
and apparently, it is good in theory and practice. how do you figure is it not working in america, the most successful nation in history? it looks to me like it works better than anything ever has!

30 million americans live in poverty. 45 million americans live without healthcare. 100 million americans did not vote during the previous election, because of the lack of a real choise on the ballot. Some US workers get paid 17% of what their work is really worth. Since George W. Bush took office, unemployment has gone up by 35%.
And, he gave the richest 1% of Americans a $1.6 trillion tax cut!!!
that's $1 600 000 000 000. Oh, look at all the zeros.
YOU'RE RIGHT! THE SYSTEM WORKS!!!!!!!!!

I'm fairly sure that would be Uruguay, Argantina and Chile which have traditionally the most laissez-faire markets in the world where most things are privatised (although sport isn't) and there aren't many regulations on things, but I could be wrong.
