The bastards are deciding that it's more "flexible" for workers to have on average 11-12 hours per day of work.

Check it here: http://www.euractiv.com/en/socialeurope/ministers-seek-deal-key-eu-labour-laws/article-173035?Ref=RSS

And this is from a bourgeois source!

"Under no circumstances should workers have to work more than 78 hours a week."

Oh, I see, they're trying to sell this as a favour to European workers - we'll have to work only 11-13 hours a day.

What. The. Fuck.

These are the exact same reasons behind the original 12+ hour work day.

If you do some basic math: proposed working hours + sleep time + get to/from work + take a piss = 24 hours

You think such people will have time to get acquainted with Marxist writings? As long as "day" is still 24 hours - NO !
Call it a conspiracy theory if you wish, but it makes much sense to me. Global capitalist system is systematically defending itself.

We should try and get alot of discussion on this , in Ireland we could use this quickly to push for a no vote , however we need to elaborate just exactly what the EU are doing here , because i can't for the life of me understand that article , anyone wanna help me out here ?

So is this the jist of it , their were no laws on the regulation of agency working times , so the EU regulated it and made it 65 hours a week ?

Pretty much. This is a step back in social gains! It must be opposed EVERYWHERE!

This is utterly ludicrous. It denies anyone the persuit of recreation or relaxation, turning working people even more in to drones concerned only with arbitrary labour.

It's not a great incentive from the same sort of people who trying to tackle obesity epidemics.
