I personally do believe that you have a point, and I would not consider utopian socialism as a legitimate short term goal for myself. It is tough to establish, and it will not happen fast, if it will ever happen that is. Perhaps such an argument is better presented to anarchists, for not all socialists are "nihilists". I myself watch myself carefully not to fall into that category.
