Has anyone ever heard of the political economist Henry George and Georgism?

What is your opinion on the man and the philosophy/economic ideology named after him? (Especially his single tax idea)

The Wiki page on Georgism states that people as diverse as William F. Buckley Jr, Winston Churchill, Henry Ford, David Lloyd George, Mumia Abu-Jamal, Sun Yat Sen, Leo Tolstoy and Mark Twain were/are all Georgists!

Intrestingly i found the link to Henry George whilst reading up on Democratic Socialism on Wikipedia.

Geo-libertarianism developed in concurrence with his ideas. A lot of anarcho-individualists (non-capitalist) uphold Henry George's conclusions, which seem sound to me - certainly anyone who gets angry at the idea people are withheld access to natural resources is looking in the right direction. Both George and mutualists look unfavorably at private rent schemes.
