They are making phony 911 calls, taking resources away from regular people in a real emergency, possibly threataning lives

And if you remove the visible police, there will be no riots. I know this, because there was a major protest against the world bank in Oslo earlier this year with no visible police, and there4 no crime.

(Ok, someone tried to smash a window at Mc Donalds and was stopped but otherwise peaceful.)

Oslo, Norway and the USA are 2 different places.

Lack of police will encourage violence here, not stop it.

Bullshit, the police provoke the violence. It is well documented that they hire neo-nazis to dress up as black bloc anarchists and smash things. It sounds crazy but I can show you videos of guys smashing things and then escaping the crowd that tries to stop them by running into the police lines and just standing there.

Well, you do have some sort of a point, as there are always some people who are there to do a lot of crap, but I doubt the police stage it.

Well, Oslo and Stocholm are two very similar places. And they experienced the worst police brutality in history last year, so Norwegian police decided to try something new.

And besides, there was police, they were just hiding.

In the WB's and IMF's HIPC report, they stated themselves that what they are doing with their SAPs isn't working. But they decided to continue implementing these programs, to the detrement of these countries that need the money.
