...but it was only because the BNP and the Tories were fielding candidates in my ward and i didnt want either of them to get in.
I voted for two independent candidiates who are veterans of my local area's political scene (If you can even call it that) and are pretty decent people who are pretty Populist in their beliefs (Bring back weekly rubbish collections and tackling youth crime, which is out of control in my area, amongst other things).
The good news is that the two candidiates i voted for got elected (Or re-elected i cant remember if they were seeking re-election though they have stood in council elections in my area for as long as i can remember) and the BNP got no seats on my county council!:lol:
Anyway do you think that we leftists should use our vote if parties and groups like the BNP and National Front pose a serious threat in certain areas?
And if so then should we be picky about who we choose to vote for to prevent the BNP from getting in? For instance if a ward was being contested by four candidates and the BNP and Labour candidiates were the two favourites, should we be reluctant to vote for Labour even if it prevents the BNP from gaining another council seat?
