I'm a 22 year old from India. I suppose I'm more of a Maoist - the Naxalite movement in India, and the Nepal events have me thoroughly convinced - but living the life I do, it's a little hypocritical of me. Anyway, I'm not very well versed with Marxist and Leftist literature, which I find a personal tragedy. I've lurked around some leftist forums for a while now, and I'm finally joining up here, because I think I need to interact a bit more with people, I'm hoping that is what I need to finally develop some concrete views, and not the vague ramblings I throw about every now and then .. and since none of my friends have the faintest idea of who Karl Marx was, I have turned to the internet.
So hello to everyone.

Welcome to the board.
If you are truly interested in developing views, I would strongly suggest reading in your spare time.
Discussing is equally as important, but better to start at the base with the literature.

Hello and welcome.
I hope you have a great time at revleft.
Hopefully you can contribute to the Nepal issue, since you get a closer view of the events then most of us.
Also a bit off-topic, but do you by chance live near Agra? I just ask because I've always said the one thing I must do before I die is see the Taj Mahal. The photos I have seen are simply stunning.

Thanks everyone for a very spirited welcome!
@ dirtycommiebastard: You're absolutely right .. In fact I'm reading Dan Hind - The Threat to Reason - it's good for understanding contemporary US imperialist designs, as they are sold to the general public to gain a blanket approval for their actions.
I also picked up Marx for students, and Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
I have Baudrillard as well, but I don't think I'm quite ready for him as yet. ;)
@ krazyrabidsheep - I wish I could, but I probably know as much as you do. India sadly, is quite derogatory in it's outlook when it comes to Nepal .. from the corporate media to the average Middle class indian.
And no, sorry I don't live near Agra, but I've seen the Taj Mahal 5 times now. I find it OK. No biggie :D

Yeah, people around here say that about the Gateway Arch, and I have cousins in New York and London who say that about the Statue of Liberty and the Tower.
