"The Outskirts" was produced in 1998 during the reign of the Yeltsin gangster regime. It was banned and not allowed to be shown in the Russian Federation until 2004.
The movie is shot in 1950s Soviet style and is in black and white with English subtitles available. It tells the story of a group of collective farmers who take revenge on a Russian oligarch and get their collective farm's land back from him.
This movie may not be to everyone's taste. It is brutal and pulls no punches. However, it is also right on target regarding how the Yeltsin regime raped the country and stole everything that was built by the Soviet people since the Great October.
"The Outskirts" is available on Netflix. I give it 5 stars and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to see how the Russian people were swindled, robbed, and degraded during the miserable years of the Yeltsin capitalist "reforms."
