I suggest everyone checks out the above video. It's fucking great and Morello's solo is...wow!

:D

The song was good in general but the solo sucked in most parts.

It was just a bunch of random noises combined, Morello has a habit of doing that shit.

That is what Morello does, and it sounds good. Could you do what he does with a guitar better than him? Hendrix made a lot of noise with his guitar as well, and he was very sucessful in what he did.

Anyway, the song was absolutely awesome. Does anyone know if i can purchase it?

No it doesn't, and he doesn't always do it.

No, because I didn't say that all he did was make random noises, now did I?

He hardly ever made random noises like Morello sometimes does, the only time I can remember is Star Spangled Banner at Woodstock, which was performed Live and was not one of his studio-recorded songs.

Thanks stating the obvious, Sherlock.

He is using mostly harmonics I think, in one part they are off the songs tone, which can be used as an effect in itself (if given the proper musical context, which I don't think it was here). I don't know, probably sounded/was great live, easy for us to judge it now. If we are to, though, the whole song seems pretty generic to me.

Well, that's just your opinion, and I respect that, but the crowd there obviously thought it sounded good, if going by the crowd's volume when he went off. Also, there are a lot more songs than just Star Spangled Banner that Hendrix did that had random noises in them, such as Voodoo Child (Slight return), Red House and Machine gun. They may not be to the same extent as Morello, but for the era, they were random noises.
