Does anyone know if cannibalism is still practiced in some places?

Oh shut the fuck up! europe has more cases of canibalism than africa, that is just the average racist stupid idea that western counrtys have from africa, yet here in europe there are casses of canibalism and theyr expecially high in england, that idea of african canibal tribes is soo 19th century...

Contrary to the popular misconception, canabalism has never been practiced as an element of society. Canabalism has only proven through archaeology to have existed in times of dire need. IE: The plane crash in the Andies. (Movie "Alive")

There is however an archaeologist who is currently working in South Western United States who has uncovered ample evidence that it may have existed among some early tribes in the south west. They have found human bone, burned on the ends, and scrape marks as if flesh was cut off.

Normally, this would be discarded as an isolated event, because the history of the field has yet to bring evidence of canabalistic culture..... yet.... this archaeologist has found enough evidence that it may have existed over a period of time in the southwest.

Actually in ancient primitive cultures cannibalism was practised during great hunger periods, and only in extreme cases, i think that in Carthage there were some cannibalis too, yet it is not proved, but they did sacrificed children in order to apease the gods, but thry did not kiled them!

You can't go by what texts say, they are mostly writen as propaganda.

According to Archaeology, the only one with ample evidence is the guy I mentioned in the south west US. However, he's currently contesting the archaelogical community which still considers there to have never been a culture, or subculture of canabalism.

The key to that statement is "Sick perverted People"... However, you'll never find a society comprised of Jeffrey Dahmers (You know that sick fuck had human torsos floating in a 55 gallon drum by his bedside, & heads in the fridge?)

Anyway, eating humans may by practiced by 1)people in dire emergency 2) the mentally ill 3) religious ritual. ( #3 is rare)

However, to eat people as openly and casually as turkey... seems to be almost nonexistent. (Save for the archeologist’s evidence I mentioned.)

Anyway, as an anthropology student I find it interesting...

i know that at one point, scientists were stumbling onto indigenous tribes in S. America that were practicing cannibalism quite frequently. However, that was a long while ago, so maybe not anymore.

jeffery dahmer used to live about a mile from my house. Joey (the drummer from slipknot) lives about a block away from dahmers old lot. You see, Dahmer lived in Pammel Court, which was student housing for ISU. Pammel has since been knocked down. He lived there, about 5 house-things down from my aunt and uncle while they went to ISU.

i remember in school our teacher asked us what was the ONE thing that was illeagal in all countries.
