Premiered at Cannes this week. Apparently it's 4.5 hours long and entirely in Spanish. Benicio Del Toro plays the lead and I can't imagine how it's going to be anything but great.

Here's a link with Soderbergh defending it to reporters:

Looks like it could be really good. I liked Soderbergh's reasons for filming it all in Spanish and how making it in English enforces imperialist revisionism.

Benicio definitely makes a great Che. Check it out.

He said that he eventually wants to make a third film to deal with Che while he was part of the Cuban government. If he makes that film, I hope he doesn't try to put an anti-Che "oh wasn't what he did actually so bad" spin on it.

It remains to be seen whether this will get backing and could be split into two films..
Sounds very Terrance Malick - The thin red line.. Which I loved so yeah here's hoping..
Soderburgh can make great films (Traffic/Out of sight) but the Oceans franchise - Urrgh!..

Hopefully it's better the Soderbergh's "Sex, Lies, and Videotapes"

Any chance it'll see general release this summer?

Rather excited about these two films - What do fellow members think of the potential for these films?

Benicio Del Toro looks rather nice in the promotional photos from the film.
