White collar worker: Salaried professional
Blue collar: Manual labor
White collar worker: Salaried professional
Like a teacher?
Is a doctor a white collar worker?

Well, yeah, it's not really defined as such. It's basically just someone who isn't a manual laborer.
This is from Wikipedia:
White-collar work is an informal term as there is no accepted enumeration of white-collar jobs to the extent that it is typically defined as any job that is not blue-collar.
And by the way, there's no such thing as a stupid question! :)

When it comes to teachers and doctors, the blue-collar/white-collar line gets a little blurry.
But as a general rule, workers = blue collar, and managers = white collar.

doctors are considered white collar.
Just two classes.
Uneducated menial labor: blue collar
Educated labor: white collar

This is the best break down you can come to, although I would argue a lot of menial labor requires education.
There's also "pink collar," which stands for a profession predominately taken over by women. In essence, all phrases about one's collar are divisive towards the proletariat.

Students can be of any class, but don't get categorised as being blue or white collar.
It doesn't matter if its a man or women, its alwasy blue or white collar. There is no pink collar.

Yes, it is sexist. Collar distinctions in general are just a distraction, like "poor and middle" class.

Blue collar comes from the fact that historicly factory workers wore blue overalls. White collar refers to to a white shirt eg office jobs.
Education and wage have nothing to do with it.
