Are most capitalists "succesful" ,wealthy ,etc and are most socialists poorer? I want to know opinions, facts, etc.
I'm fairly well-off, I have to admit. I'm that common phenomena- a rebellious teenager with bourgeois parents, but I don't think I'll grow out of it, unlike most rebellious teens. I think most, if not all, teens on this sight will stick to the left.
There is also all those people who read papers like the mail and the sun (i don't know their equivalent in america) and get brainwashed by the press.
Well I'm making no sense and my typing's gone weird.

Bunny, your typing always makes sense and it's always wierd. Do not fret, my wealthy, priveleged friend.
I'm dirt fucking poor. I was born that way. I remain that way. Hopefully, I won't stay this way.
I Bow 4 Che, you got a couple bucks?
I was always brought up to believe that if you wanted nice things and you wanted to live in a nice house, you worked for it. That's what I'm in the process of doing now. Wish me luck.
And that's coming from someone who endorses capitalism as the least-shittiest form of government on a world of shitty governments.

I have been both poor and middle class.
So it doesn't effect me really.
I wasn't a socialist when I was poor. I wasn't a socialist cuz I was bitter.
I'm a socialist cuz I believe in it

It doesn't matter. All socialists have the same goal, to liberate THE PROLETARIAT, to overthrow capitalism and to transform society into communism.

bollox to the communism bit, socialists are not all communists!!!! and marxism is not the true socialism, before you say anything.
anyway, what about capitalists? i don't understand how you can be poor and not be socialist, well i do understand, but i'm sure you know what i'm getting at.

generally the richer you are the more socially liberal you are and the less economically left you are. if you are very rich, i doubt you can be a true communist (unless you intentionally take a vow of austerity).

My mother is separated, and i don't think her economy was too bright for a while, but as the years passed things have become much "better". She is now a sales manager and deemed by many as the best tourist guide in her company.
I think "a rebellious teenager with bourgeois parents" would fit well, although i'm very certain i won't lose my faith in leftist liberalismity, i will rather become more involved.

My Dad and Mum are proletarians, my Grandfather was a small-buisness owner but he worked in the means of production alongside the workers.

It dosent really, unless your going to suffer massive financial losses. So you can bet your right arm bill gates is a capitalist.
Intellectuals tend to be the socialists,eg,teachers,doctors,ect...
But otherwise no.

Even with not a lot of money in your pockets, you can still have a better life here than in Cuba or other countries.

Well it's a pity no capis have posted, apart from AK. I don't think my parents' opinions sway me in any way, my mum's way more focused on money and "success" than i thought she was, we have arguements about it, I don't want to be rich, that's not the same as earning alot of money, but i know whta i will do with that money, it'll go where it's needed. then again, i am a naive teenager and i may suddenlt mutate into a horrible, selfish capi!!

It also depends on how your money is spent. If you are a doctor with a beemer, you cannot be a socialist.

I guess I'm lower middle class. My dad has been a firefighter for the city of Canton for almost 30 years, and my mom drives a bus for the Stark county MRDD.

why do you say this?
Should we be discouraging anyone from joining the fight?
I mean God forbid we should get support from anywhere we can.
If you are priviliged you can be a sociliast, if you are poor you can be a socialist, if you grew up in a fuckin crack house you can be a socialsit, if you are the president's son you can be a socialist

the american dream is slowly shrinking in availability. The gap is ever increasing, so I think it is inevitible that the so called "middle to poor classes" will eventually amend this ineqity. So yes, I think on a whole, the more poor and the less you have the more inclined you are towards a socialist system. This is a hard question.

Nateddi, does this apply to Friedrich Engels, too?
