View Full Version : Making an Anarchist Flag

I have a large piece of flag-quality black cloth. I can get grommets and the tool to apply them. I have white spray paint and also white (acrylic?) paint if spray paint is not the best method. I have cardboard and a razor for making a stencil.
Now all I need is how to make a stencil of an Anarchy symbol without
"breaks" in it on the flag.

Will having "islands" be a problem? I would think that I could affix them to the cloth so as to not be blown away.

If the islands are made out of a decently sturdy material use double sided tape to attach them to the flag.

Err...
An anarchist flag is just black, no :blackA: in it.
Secondly, why would a "Queer Shia Leninist" want to make an anarchist flag?

Entryism.
You could always make a one layer stencil without islands and paint in the bridges by hand, or you could make a couple layers for each island-prone area.

Depends on the anarchist.
I like burning flags, why wouldn't Peacekeeper?

I suggest you don't go through all the trouble and just use a plain black cloth. (unless you find a red cloth too)

Shame. A march of black and red flags look great.

Is there any relevance to where the black and red are situated on an anarchist flag? As I've some with the black at the top and vica versa. So?

How to make an anarchist flag:
1: select flag of preferred nation
2: acquire a match/lighter
3: light said match/lighter
4: place said match/lighter underneath said flag
5: hold until said flag catches light
6: wait until said flag is all burned up aaaand...
Walla! you have made an anarchist flag!

What? I was wondering if one was used by anarchist-communist another by anarcho-syndicalists.

i don't think so. i've seen other variations, such as a horizontal divide (in old spanish civil war vids, mostly). i tend to put the black above because to me communism is a subdivision of anarchism, rather than vice versa, but with various diy patches i've done either. red on top is more popular.
