the materialism of my peers around me, has me questioning a succesful revolution(i know im new, i dont identify yet, and a revolution won't happen tomorrow, but it comes to mind).
i still have faith in the left to succeed but so many factors have me questioning.
can anyone give me advice on how or what to do to keep my and my friends morale up?

Welcome, comrade.
Just curious, but is there a reason you don't use capitalization? :)
can anyone give me advice on how or what to do to keep my and my friends morale up?
I don't know of specific ways you can keep up morale, but do participate in rallies and meet-ups. I would also consult with recent socialist literature (80s on) to get a better idea of how the Left has shaped itself after the USSR collapsed.

I have been plagued by questions on the viability of socialism since I became one. But I had a much more powerful drive, and that was to try to fight for waht was right. In the end, I realized that I wasn't so worried if the full actuation of communism ever occured. I just want what is best for my fellow man, and to be the best moral person I can, which means fighting for socialism.

I would say, go to a protest. It always lifts my spirits up.

Whenever I get discouraged, the first thing I do is consult with demonstrable evidence of socialism working: Catalonia, Yugoslavia, cooperatives, everyday kindness (ever speculate about why so many people pay tips when it technically isn't an obligation?), the Soviets, Haifi workers' councils, software piracy, freeware movement, etc.
I then reason with the goals set out by all Leftists: a classless organization based on needs. This is especially a cheerful thought because few can argue against communism being ideal in comparison to any private market alternative. A society which likes a price system would inevitably convert to socialism. Any hierarchal position in a commercial firm (without a state, and especially without money) would be strictly voluntarily as the reward would only come from respect for the head honcho, and the people acting (temporarily) subservient have the open ability to leave or even commit democratization.
Probably what uplifts my occasional gloom the most is a realization about a personal commitment towards 1.) the application of democracy and 2.) satisfying human wants.
Remember: it would be a shame to be continuously optimistic. Only fools never question themselves.

i don't use capitalization because it's a bad habit from when i used all the short-hand stuff while typing.
