I was listening to this rather cruddy talk radio show tonight as I drove home late and they were talking about some new proposal from NASA to use machines in airports which read brainwaves, heartrate, and eye movement (for fluttering) to detect potential "nervous" terrorists.

Has anyone heard about this or read a source?

I think if people want to take airport security seriously, they would pay the screeners and workers better.....at the time being, they could made more money at McDonalds.

Why would they care about their jobs at such shit pay? I for one would rather pay a little more for a plane ticket to help supplement the costs incurred with raised payrates for airport workers and screeners. We would all be better off.

The employment turnover rate at airports is HUGE! Before they step in with "technology" to do the job.....which is scary in itself (dont get me started on THAT! haha) ....maybe they should look at the system they already have in place. eh? I dunno....I am ranting....sorry

That is so stupid...I actually haven't heard of this before I read your post but it disgusts me to say the least. Especially because of what's happened EVERYONE is nervous in airports. For millions of reasons! I seriously don't know ONE person who isn't nervous that "someone might have planted something in their bag" or "their might be a terrorist on the plane" or if they look like someone who might be carrying something illegal, they might be nervous that "someone may stop and queston me thinking I am a terrorist"
It's all such a waste of money and the most annoying thing is, if they actually carry through with this they might catch a terrorist which they would have caught without the system and be like "see we would have neevr caught him/her if it weren't for this system" it's so stupid! That would just encourage ALL airports to do it, making it a COMPLETE waste of money....okay I'll stop there.

Hear Hear IB4C......

And on top of what you said, do you really want machines putting electromagnetic waves into your brain as you pass through security? And if it starts at airports, who knows where it will end? Will we begin to have these machines everywhere?

What next? Brain implants? (People are already using these implants on their kids) A friend of mine and I decided that if they start demanding implants, we are fleeing the country. Though hopefully by that time, I wont live in the USA anymore anyhow.

As for the screeners, have you seen Minority Report? It reminds me of the eyeball scanners for ID....

Let me come with you then!!! You heard about the USA PA right? If not I better get started on my article! The government can now tap into our phone lines and internet searches! Legally! And Checks and Balances are basically fucked now! The government is sneaking so much passed us, it's a conspiracy! I would leave this country even if I was the richest slave of Capitalism, I am only 12 but if this goes any further, I need to take action....sorry I know I'm making a big deal of this but it is! People aren't reading! They're letting it slip by them! The tv is a distraction from the theives that sneak behind them while FOX News is on! Insanity!! This better not carry through, I think I'm about to faint...lol...*calms down* much better.

so nobody has to read my pyscotic rant I will shorten it down to this:

The government is controlling us more and more each day. Pretty soon we will no longer be able to think for ourselves without that little micro-chip in our head vibrating till we faint. This all turning into "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley...whatever happened to "Land of the Free" The constitution doesnt matter anymore...Government disregards the constitution now, USA PA proves this.

lol fellas, that's mad, isn't it?

Over here in Malaysia, a parents' protectionist group has made recommendations to the Energy & Communications Minister to develop censorship software to stop teenagers from sending SMS text containing lewd jokes and profanity. How FUCKING STUPID is that?

Somebody shoot me...

Exactly. It's terrifing, I hear they're gonna like make it mandatory to have a tattoo of a unique barcode that can be scanned from a satellite, so that the government knows everything about you, including where you are.

I've considered a) committing suicide, which wouldn't do anything to help the cause, and so is completely selfish, b)running away to somewhere out of U$A, which is more logical and less selfish, or c) refusing and going to an internment camp, oh how fun. Suggestions anyone?
