the song Imagine by john Lennon has very Communistic lyrics. It describes the ideals of Communism. Just imagine a world without countrys, no nationalismto fight for. Imagine Government without the influence of religion. Imagine not having to pay for the necessitys of life. Morover imagine a world of peace.
Check it out
Imagine
Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one
that is a world I want to live in. How about you fellow Comrades

I already knew that though. John Lennon was a really kool guy.
Look at the lyrics to working class hero.
As soon as your born they make you feel small,
By giving you no time instead of it all,
Till the pain is so big you feel nothing at all,
A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be.
They hurt you at home and they hit you at school,
They hate you if you're clever and they despise a fool,
Till you're so fucking crazy you can't follow their rules,
A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be.
When they've tortured and scared you for twenty odd years,
Then they expect you to pick a career,
When you can't really function you're so full of fear,
A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be.
Keep you doped with religion and sex and TV,
And you think you're so clever and classless and free,
But you're still fucking peasents as far as I can see,
A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be.
There's room at the top they are telling you still,
But first you must learn how to smile as you kill,
If you want to be like the folks on the hill,
A working class hero is something to be.
A working class hero is something to be.
If you want to be a hero well just follow me,
If you want to be a hero well just follow me.

Im not an expert on Lennons political beliefs, but wasnt he a hippie? Or did he support a violent revolution (where necesary) to achieve the goals that he himself describes in Imagine?
But in any case, a great song from a great musician.

According to Wikipedia:
Lennon had been interested in left-wing politics since the late 1960s, and reportedly donated money to the Trotskyist Worker's Revolutionary Party.

Ah yes, I've thought about that before. I think both "Imagine" and "Working Class Hero" are amazing songs.

Yeah, but "Revolution" is a strong anti-communist song.

It doesn't really matter what political affiliations Lennon had, does it? The song is what matters.

this song would have carried 1000x more weight if it wasnt for the fact that John lennon was a sell out hypocrite fucker.
He used to buy Designer fur coats for Yoko and lived like typical A listers.
Listen closer to what Lennon says in the album version.
Just for those who don't know this little tidbit it goes:
...when you talk about destruction you can count me out. in.
Supposedly because Lennon was at the time undecided on the matter. I'm not sure where his politics went after there, though Imagine is, of course, strongly communist.
