I've been wondering for a while which seems more important to you: Helping make the world a better place, or planning and carrying ou the overthrow of the system?
I feel this is an important question, and one i have not been able to answer for myself adequately. I have been for a long time skeptical of anything like unions, or not-for-profit charity groups or anything of the like. I see these as ways of working in the system and helping it as much as helping the poor and unnourished or whatever. However i feel that as revolutionaries one of our main goals is the betterment of humanity. Does the revolution take precedent over the well-being of those who cannot provide for themselves?
the main reason i see a conflict here is that there really is only enough time and resources to do one: either help those who need it or overthrow the state. Organic Revolution has a thread here about social programs. i think these are really good, and the kind of thing i'd love to have the initiative and organisational skills to pull off. but i cant help but wonder: could this time be better spent planning and carrying out concrete revolutionary actions?
