Has anyone seen this film?

One of the greatest films ever, in my opinion. Totally without any redeeming moral qualities or social values. Morally reprehensible, in fact. But at the same time, totally awesome.

Takashi Miike, the director, has created a number of great films.

I think this was recommended to me over much aged wine last weekend. Is Miike the same person who directed Visitor Q? Because that was definitely recommended.

Edit: I just read some reviews, and I think I'd just be grossed out... Plus the whole violence against women thing is quite disturbing.

Yes, he did Visitor Q as well. And Audition.

The last film I've seen by him was a short film called "Imprint", which was also decent, although I'd say not as good as Audition or ITK.


Edit: I just read some reviews, and I think I'd just be grossed out... Plus the whole violence against women thing is quite disturbing.
It's pretty damn violent, all around...although often the violence isn't really disturbing because it's unrealistically over-the-top (it's based on manga, from what I gather). There was one scene that disturbed me, though.

I seen that film, Gozu, and probably also Audition.

I thought Gozu was crazy but didn't like it much (it has a kind of Lynch kind of feel sometimes) and I don't remember much of Audition (probably not even seen it but just heard about it. Imprint also sounds familiar.)

Ichi the Killer was interesting though.
