Perhaps you didn't see my post in the Chit Chat thread, so I'll post it again for you:

Right-wingers used to have access to all of the forums. The current situation is a response to the problems that they created. The original reason for the Commie Club was so people would be able to get away from right-wing trolls who disrupted every thread. That was before they were simply restricted to one forum on the board.

As for democracy, feel free to start your own message board, or your own site, for that matter.

Sure Brian. Considering you stood up for Shyne, you can't really speak. I'm standing up for what i believe in. If i had it my way, there would be NO right wingers on this board. BUT this isnt my board, and since most the members dont agree with me on that, it has never happened. So, no, i'm not an asskisser. I just happened to disagree with New Democracy's proposal. Its part of the democratic process and i uphold my right to say no.

Well, of course, I definitely support it.

Unfortunately there isn't much democracy in this Board, Malte holds the ultimate power over everyone and decides to ban people from places only at his discretion.

I was even banned from chit-chat, although I've never bothered to post too much in there, and I've never gotten political in there.

Your blowing this way out of proportion. Malte has never banned someone simply because he didn't like them. All banned people, and there aren't very many, were banned because they either broke the rules (being racist and the sorts) or because they were spammer (posting random, disgusting pictures aimed at disrupting this board).

Look, there's about 87,000,000 forums, give or take a few, on the Internet. If the people who run this place want to impose restrictions on who can post where about what, and you don't like it...go find another BB.

Heck, or start your own. From what I understand, it doesn't take much in the way of either knowledge or money nowadays. Come to think of it, maybe whoever runs the show here would be willing to make exceptions for opponents who make contributions in greater than "X" amount. Doubt they'll want to hold their breath until the contributions roll in, but you never know. Make the suggestion and open your checkbook if it's THAT important to you. They wouldn't get mine.

I just registered here, mostly to just lurk (hence the silly Ross Perot Username). I am about as unsympathetic with the goals of this forum as it is possible to be, but I can't see how a set of clearly defined rules on a private forum, espeically when there's so MANY of them now, stifles anyone's freedom of speech. Personally, I doubt I'd hang around if faced with flame war after flame war. Life's too short.

I am torn.

On one hand, I am a staunch supporter of the principles of democracy amd free society.

On the other hand, this board, while a "society" in its own right, is not a soveriegn nation, and is subject to the whims of its creator, malte.

Being that I could be banned outright from the whole board like some stalinists have been, I appreciate the limited access I do have, so I recognize Malte's accomodation, even if I somewhat disageree in theory with any censorship.

You werent banned and in that specific post i was referring to the members who have been permanently banned. You were merely restricted, quite different from being banned. The actions Malte took against right-wingers was due to the bringing in of politics into chit chat. Although it wasnt to a great extent, it was still considered a nuisance by most. I think was delt the final blow was your suicide remark, which WAS uncalled for. And as soon as you said it, all the capitalists jumped on board to agree with you. I doubt most capitalists, if us leftists had done it, would have supported that same remark.

And yes, this is Malte's board, and he has set, defined rules in which everyone must abide, everyone. Right wingers did have access to all forums at one point and it did not work. This is a LEFTIST community, and therefore you dont really have a place here, yet Malte still allows you to post in this section in order to not ban you completly.

If this was my BB, I would ask that all ladies submit pictures of themselves to get into my new 'room' dubbed theunder 18 club, or barely legal.
