I want...no I demand a unified Korea RIGHT THIS INSTANT! I'm sick of this...the only country not united.
I have a question if it was finally unified what do you think would happen? Who would take power Kim Jung Il or Kim Dae Jung. I would NOT like to live under a Stalinist Kim Jun Il regime. I'd have to say I would prefer the capitalist South Korea............................................. ..............

Why? Capitalist south korea? the economic problems in the north are moistly due to natural disasters

But I still don't want to live under a dictator of Kim Jung Il. I don't want to starve while soldiers get to eat. And I live in South Korea so I know, economy is strong. It's a great place to live. I'm not capitalist and I don't support capitalism...but I don't know what to think when it comes to Korea...
Anyway I think Soviet Union and the United States were assholes to screw us over...hehe, I know its a real general thought but still...North needs the South, South needs the North. The North has the military,well....mainly because of the Soviets and China. The South has all the agriculture and the fields and the rice and foooood. Korea must be united and we must take over the world before the monopoly man and pringles man does...

forget the last part, kind of hyper.

Mazdak,

there hasn't been a country in the world that has suffered due to over 40 years of natural disasters? LOL. Come on be serious. North Korea is in famine. I think any sane person would choose the prosperous and capitalist south.

They are NOT the same. Americans are not democratic, just look how they handle Cuba, Chile and other south American country... that is not democraty. Also, private enterprise are giving so much money to the governement; that is democracy i guess ?

Do you forget your history? The last time the US went to use " its sphere of influence" we called that attempt the Korean War. The biggest failing of Northern Korea has been its economic sanctions posed by (in large part) the US. Leave your proven failing American foreign policy out of Korea and let them work things out. As I understand they are holding increasing talks for reuniting seperated families, opening the trade tables, as well this weekend they have initiated a North vs. South football tournament. It appears without outside influence they are making steps on their own. I believe North Korea is accepting the fact that they will have to open their doors to markets if they in fact want to survive. I am leaving for Korea in 2 weeks so I will be more than happy to share some hands on experience throughout the duration of my time there.

Yeah, they did have a soccer game, last night. It was a very boring game, but it was great to see both teams/people together. Your coming to Korea? I'm here right now! Where are you going? Warning: all you see are corporations.

I have a friend stationed in S.K. from what he says not everything is honky dorey there. He says that theres these girls that work in the bars, whose purpose is to get guys to drink. But these girls are forced to work 6 days a week, and if they want a day off, they must pay the bar a good amount of money. And if a guy wants to take one of the girls 'home,' he can pay the bar for her 'services.'

Ireland is not united. Neither is Georgia/Russia, with the whole Checyna thing.

Bullshit man. Ireland is democratic and capitalist and it is not under the US. I know what you were getting at but I resent these general kinds of statements.

LMAO!

I suggest Capitalist Imperial review the democracy that free enterprise instituted in the early years of the Industrial Revolution. I would also like him to examine how democratic the US was when it continued it's slaughter of Vietnam, despite obvious political dissent; when it engaged in this War On Terrorism without even questioning the people of this country; When it democratically blasted Japan to a wasteland.
