Greetings comrades. My name is Arthur. I am an 18 year old black student from Detroit, Michigan, USA. I got into revolutionary politics about six months ago after reading the autobiography of Bob Avakian, Chairman of the Revolutionary Communist Party, USA, "From Ike to Mao and Beyond: My Journey from Mainstream America to Revolutionary Communist". Since then I have been a frequent customer of the local Revolution Books, taking up Marxism-Leninism-Maoism and the mass line of the RCP. I consider myself now to be a radical on the road to becoming a revolutionary, and eventually joining the Party.
Are there any other young comrades here like me? Let's hook up, and build a movement!

Welcome man, and my advice to you is that a true revolucionary has to be selfless.

Welcome. I'm not a big fan of Bob Avaikan but I'm no stranger to Maoism (but I'm not a Maoist). I've got some friends that moved down here from Detroit. Some say they miss and others say they're glad they're gone. Personally, any city that can produce a man like J Dilla is a fine ass lady in my book.

:) Thanks, I appreciate the sentiment. I agree also that a true revolutionary does have to have a certain level of selflessness (I assume by selfless you mean self-reliant) but soapbox preaching gets old after a while...

Welcome to the forum. I'm sure you'll find plenty of young radicals on RevLeft with an interest in Maoism. The rebuilding of America's Left is being undertaken by a new group of socialists 35 and younger - with the help of some elders like Noam Chomsky.
