Good day, Comrades. I have just joined this group moments ago. An introduction was encouraged, and I was planning one anyway. My name is Joe, and I currently live in a small town in Nebraska, U.S.A. Fortunately I will be moving soon, to Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, where I will be for a few years before moving again to Nova Scotia. There I plan to finish my degrees in Political Science and Celtic Studies (with focus on Irish Gaelic) and then immigrate to Ireland. I enjoy living life rather than being entertained by the mainstream media, and as such my hobbies include Thai Boxing, Rugby, Destreza, and political discussion amongst other things. I've been a socialist for a number of years now, and a communist relatively recently. I have come a long way in a short time. When I was growing up, I was a "well-indoctrinated youth" in the capitalist-imperialist-fascist system of the United States. I even joined the army right after high school, despite having a 3.97 GPA and my choice of Universities to attend. I did it out of blind/stupid patriotism for a nation which I only discovered later was not the glorious, heroic nation I thought it to be. I loved the military lifestyle, but was injured and discharged. My treatment as a way for officers to acquire promotion points left me feeling betrayed, and it was at this point in time I decided to begin questioning everything, not to take anything for face value, but to always do my own research to verify everything "taught" to me. Naturally my research on politics and philosophy lead me to Karl Marx, and my progression down the path of Marxism. My life experiences, research, and watching the problems of the world have lead me to where I am today, a devout communist who has decided that my life should be devoted to the cause of liberating the proletariat slaves and spreading international freedom to the people of the world. I believe whole-heartedly in the cause, and seek to inform the world of the truth, which is chin-deep in capitalist/fascist/imperialist propaganda. It will not be an easy task, but it seems that nothing worthwhile is easy anymore. The biggest problem in the United States is ignorance of the facts, and indoctrination in capitalist lies, dependence on government owned media and "protection" and religion. Since the fall of the Soviet Union and the capitalisation of China, we have experienced some setbacks. I am not intimidated. The people will realise what's going on, and will take a stand. These are my views and my ideology. Cheers comrades. -Joe the Red
