I'm here out of a sheer curiosity about communism. Flat out, simple. It seems to me to be the most rediculous, arrogant, destructive, intolerant means this species has ever concocted to govern itself. To me, it's a hell on Earth.

But the real curiosity is in the minds of the people who condone it. I just dont, don't understand how you could. Being Left-wing, a socialist, if you will, I can "sort of" understand. People need help, and to me Socialism is basically giving people a helping hand, financially or otherwise, through the government, to keep them from drowning. I'm for welfare and other such programs. It's a hard world out there, and I understand some people come into it with certain disavantages, and need a little aid now and then. That's okay. I'm for it.

But communism......ha, see you on the battlefield, comrades. There's ways of solving problems in this world, taking away people's land isn't one of them. You talk of liberating the workers from their shackles, but what you're really doing is forcing everyone, EVERYONE into living a sort of perfect, "equal" across the board, mundane, without-competitoin, HIGHLY-regulated, Godless life YOU think is best for everyone. Well, that sucks. How dare you. Ever had a friend who was really into jazz, and was constantly making you tapes and talking to you about jazz and how great it is and was always trying to get you into it as much as he was. But, naturally, his plan backfired and you just ended up HATING jazz, BECAUSE how much he talked about it, and him also, as a result? Well that's you guys. You think you have all the answers, you IMPOSE them on everyone, and all you do is make everyone miserable, and as a result, everyone hates you. No wonder why communism is so unpopular. No one likes a know-it-all.

But that's what communism is. It's soul-destroying, spirit-crushing misery. To a jazz soundtrack.

And I'm not even gonna get into.....ha....."anarchism"....because I'll be here all night and tears will be shed. From the ....ha ..."anarchists"..... out of emotional distress, and me from laughter.

FOH, I'm aware that this isn't a communist web site. But I know that there are some communists here and I was basically addressing directly to them (the "anarchists" also). I really don't have a "beef" per se-in general- with the rest of you left wingers, except......

I think it's particuarly ignorant of you that you suggest this in a thread right below a post where a LEFT-WINGER (punk rawker) says, even though he hates my politics, that he thinks I'm the best capitalist to ever post here and that I amuse him with my humorous rants. That thread is here in "Social vs. Cappie" for everyone to read, it's the "WHAT THE FUCK" thread, page 6.

I am on good terms (and not just in "Chit Chat" but also in the cuthroat "Social vs. Cappie") with many, many members here, many of whom have sent me PERSONAL messages where they compliment me on my posts. A quick list of people whom I consider to be friends here are: I Will Deny You, Red Celtic, abstractmentality, Stormin Norman, RGacky, Man in the Red Suit, El Che, Syne, Izm Schzm, Punk Rawker, Mcleodstickle, peacennicked, deadpool, and many more whom I'll probably remember after I log off. What I mean by friends of mine, is these people have all, in one way or another, posted stuff directed to me, where in some way they had very, very nice things to say. Sometimes PERSONAL messages.

I've also almost been DIS-OWNED by some of the CAPPIES in here for expressing some of my REALLY, REALLY hardore LEFTIST leanings also. I'm for socialized health care and education and also I firmly believe in welfare. Pretty hardcore right, huh?

I post humorously, SEEMINGLY random stuff, because that's the kind of person I am. That's just how I think, and more importantly, how I WRITE. If you can't deal with that, then you are more than welcome (obviously) to begin a campign to get me out of here.

Just like capitalists, communists all have slightly different viewpoints.
I'd like to say hi again, I have been rudely removed from the internet for two weeks whilst moving house, by an evil capitalist company (i.e. Ntl.) They took too bloody long to come fit the phone/cable modem. But I'm happy now :)

AK you do post sensical and logical posts, even if the lefties don't agree with your opinions. I think you do make good arguments. I'd also like to say, I don't think people will really be able to understand what a communist state would be like, until we have a decent socialist one. I think socialism is the way forward, and also the only way to reduce the huge differences occurring between rich and poor. Such as, almost all communist states jumped right in before setting out the conditions. A fast shift of government and structure cannot happen overnight. Obviously more than one western ountry at very LEAST would have to do it at the same time for it to have any chance of it working. One of these countries would have to be the United States.

Will it happen?

Possibly not, but capitalism will certainly eventually end, just like every political system before it.
Capitalism is NOT a perfect political system, as pointed out by many posters to this forum. Eventually it will decline naturally, even if we don't have anything to do with it. Why?
It's inherrantly flawed - eventually there will be no one left to exploit, no more enemies to fight against, because the extremes of the world will either reach critical mass, or huge inflation will occur, because of poorer countries catching up economically. When you no longer have any cheap sources of labour - prices go up. This could cause a huge recession/depression - much like the american one of the thirties. How did capitalism survice that one? Heard of the second world war?

Although 1984 is a fictional novel - it also represents the pinnical of capitalist econmoics - in order to survive the "bust" part, continents must go to war - it's the only way to save the failing economy. Anyone who reads their history will know that capitalism MUST have recession in order for the economy to be able to pick up again.

How are America helping the problematic economy? Well picking war with as many countries as possible, certainly isn't hurting it. The problem with economists is they have a hugely short term memory - they spend most of their life guessing an economic system that makes no sense! In order to make money - we buy pieces of labour, and sell them for more than they were originally worth - then when something really bad happens, perfectly prosperous companies have their shares dumped. A good case in point is marconi. they are a perfectly good company, but the telecoms sector doesn't have the huge shareholder profits in it anymore - so everyone sold up. The stockmarket is governed by silly, non logical laws, that only stockbrokers and economists seem to understand. How much time to news programs spend going on about share prices? There is no point in shares. I think that's something most all leftists seem to understand.

Come on, he's a lefty, he's a natural. So what if he's good at what he's doing now? James was twice as good and he still swapped. I don't see how the club, or the country as a whole is going to get better if there's an attitude that you shouldn't become a C1 paddler unless you're a hopeless K1 paddler or you're from a family of C1 paddlers.

When I have children they're all going to be C1 paddlers, even the girls. And i'm going to get them winning U16 national championships when they're 9 and holding senior national records when they're 14, then world records when they're 17.

Or maybe when someone realises that C1s have scored 33% of our singles points at the last inter-club regatta even though they were only 10% of the team. And Leamingto scored more points with only 5 paddlers, 3 of which were C1s compared with our 20, 2 of which were C1s. C1=More points.

I'm really pissed off because all we're trying to develop more diggers nationally and my club is supposed to be one of the centers and the only junior we've got is me. Then the other 2 who are seniors are someone who doesn't train very often but is quite encouraging for people who genuinely want to become diggers and speaks the truth and someone who discourages people from being diggers but commands more respect so people listen to him.

That is a ridiculous analogy. You are saying communism is regulated and without room for options etc; and comparing it to Jazz, which is all open and improvisational and in reality the complete opposite of how you define communism.
