Hey,
I'd like to know if anybody has any good articles, books to read, etc about Albania that they could list for me. I'm a bit ignorant about Albania's history so I would like to get a better perspective of the country.
Also, changing the subject, what's a good book about Mao/Maoism that isn't conservative propaganda?
Thank you.

hmm I dont know about books , but from what I know about my aunt who lived under Hoxha it was very cool especialy because they rarely worked in the factory.
They were around a stove drinking cofee most of the time because of the bureaucratic method of getting primary resources:laugh:.
also her dad was an official so he was one of the few who could afford the only taxi in town:)
That is what I personaly know about Albania (and some more that I wont bother posting cuz Hoxhaists are gonna bash me) .

Haha, sounds interesting! ;)
It is difficult to find information on Albania...I have a large 20th century history book and looked up Albania in the index and it wasn't there.

I finished reading a book called simply "the Balkans" by Misha Gelny. Its a good look into the region and Albania is covered pretty well. The author is pretty non-biased although not a communist of any sort so all the Stalinists and Hoxnaists will be disappointed as theres much criticism over Enver and all the other mini Stalins.
