I'll say this straight to the point.
China, Russia and Cuba have formed a communist government. Only Cuba has survived and flourished (to some extend).
Do you think it will be possible for a modern revolution to take place? Do you think America or Britain will stand by and allow anything like this to happen again?
The closet anyone has came is the Zapatista's in Mexico. But I haven't read any updates recently to find out how their getting on.
Personnally, I don't think it would be possible anywhere except maybe Mexico and Ireland - but it will take a lot of bloodshed and war. Am I alone in these beliefs?

comreade you forget vietnam, poland, hungry, nigeragua, all of these have florished, as well as socialist ones such as norway, sweeden, switzerland, all of these have florished. Look at communisms many successes instead of its few faliers.

A revolution is possible anywere where the country is run under a military dictatorship or is a 3rd world country as their is no strong foundation of a government.
A communist revolution is reliably likely to happen in and country suffering economic hardship. We missed our chance in the US during the Crash.

A revolution is possible anywhere, the chances of it occuring rises when the governments oppression and tyranny is higher. Although Cuba, the Soviet Union, and China are not true forms of communism they reinstate that a revolution is possible.

Russia is definately possible, a poll by an unaligned newspaper showed that 89% of russians think major industries should be in state hands! and 54% of those polled though capitalists were greedy and ruthless tyrants as opposed to 20% that thought they weren't and 26% that didn't know. The Communist Party in Russia is the biggest party there as well. Russian people have been dissolusioned with a "give capitalism a chance" attitude. I don't think this will stay that way, considering that the idea capitalism in russia has been just like everything in capitalism; a big scam.

I think Argentina would be a good place for a revolution right now, with its government and the country in the condition it is in.

Rgacky,
Do you know the death tolls, resulting from communism, in the countries you claim have flourished. The only thing which has flourished is the plant life due to all the Nitrogen released into the soil by those decaying bodies.

Think of all the horrible things that the USA was built on. The incredible pain and suffering that Americans and the American government have created is far worse than that of communism. Remember the USA was:
Founded on the slaughtered bodies of Native-Americans
Built with the sweat and blood of enslaved Africans
Expanded with more murdered Native-Americans
And it exists in its present state because of US imperialism
