My Dad met Alley in 86'. I was nearly born in China.
I'm about to do a documentary about Kiwi maoists. They were around back when the USSR and the PRC were united, so they would be able to tell us a few things about imperialist behaviour.

BTW, Alley was the most trusted 'foreign friend' in China hands down. Not to say the others (like Bethune and A.L Strong) didn't give their all.
They just died earlier and were too closely identified with the US.
