Hi
I'm Shayla Bench from capital city (Ottawa) of Canada.
I discovered communism simply by wanting to know what the hell it is. people always talk like communism is such a bad thing. But I read the manifesto it has major significants to our times. we can live free under communism.

I made a few posts mentioning the fact that I'm Canadian, and some people said oh Canada isn't even a real country.

Is there are any other Canadian communists here?

Hi and welcome to the board.

I made a few posts mentioning the fact that I'm Canadian, and some people said oh Canada isn't even a real country.

Wasn't that the thread in Chit-Chat? If that was the case they were probably taking the piss, protip: Take everything in chit-chat with a pinch of salt.

Also I'm fairly sure we have a few canadian members.

Welcome comrade.

If you are interested in becoming active in communist politics, here are some links to some Canadian communist parties:

Communist Party of Canada (Marxist-Leninist):

Revolutionary Communist Party (Canada):

http://www.pcr-rcp.ca/

A good anti-poverty and pro-working class activist movement:

The Ontario Coalition Against Poverty:

ontario coalition against poverty ? wtf

What is wrong, they are a decent and effective anti-poverty movement.

The OP is based in the Ontario area too.

RCP isnt in Ontario?

I am not Canadian myself, I do not know whether the RCP has members in the Ontario area.

However the RCP is a party that is based nationwide and not a local group specific to this or that area of Canada. I am sure that if the OP were to join the RCP and there was no local RCP branch in the OP's area, the RCP would assist the OP is setting up a local party branch.

CPC-ML... i lulled

What is funny about the CPC-ML?

They are Canada's most largest and well known party on the revolutionary left and in the communist movement.

The CPC-ML isn't the largest and most well-known; that label would have to go to the CPC.

The RCP is by far strongest in and around Montreal though there's activists from Quebec City to Vancouver iirc.

And I've heard good things about the OCAP.

I am not a Maoist but nice to see you are still using every thread as an opportunity to spew your Trotskyite sectarianism.

the strongest Marxist organization!

No.

Just a small group of Menshevists and reformists who urge revolutionaries to abandon revolutionary and communist politics in favour of joining a bourgeois reformist party (the NDP).

I believe the OP is interested in communism, not liquidationist reformism and bourgeois liberalism.

Nice try though!

I know comrade, that in terms of numbers the CPC is bigger, but they are not a communist party as such, just a reformist social democratic party, much like the CP-USA.

There are only two communist parties in Canada, the RCP and CPC-ML.

Just a small group of Menshevists

First of all we exist in Canada 5 years now and we have more members and in more places than the RCP and soon we ll be the only Marxist active force in Canada . The CPC and the other parties although they exist for decades their membership is stagnated and with no potential.

urge revolutionaries to abandon revolutionary and communist politics in favour of joining a bourgeois reformist party (the NDP).

lmao i see you have no sense of entrism which is a standard marxist tactic

Originaly posted by Karl Marx:

In what relation do the Communists stand to the proletarians as a whole?

The Communists do not form a separate party, opposed to other working-class parties.

They have no interests separate and apart from those of proletariat as a whole.

They do not set up sectarian principles of their own, by which to shape and mould the proletarian movement

We don't need to debate on that there is a separate thread for it.

not liquidationist reformism and bourgeois liberalism

Do u have any idea of what our positions are?

LOLLIPOP:

I can see that this thread will derail into a debate so I am going to, this weekend, make a thread in the Theory Forum on why I think Trotskyism (both of the IMT entryist school of thought and other variants of Trotskyism) is a reformist and social democratic trend wholly at odds with Marxism and Leninism due to it's Menshevist heritage.

Yes, Canadas only Labour party is bourgeois. The leadership is extremely reformist. I met Jack Layton, what a douche! But it is still a Labour party. Take your slander and shove it.
