since it is in the news often why not discuss it?

as some may not know, zimbabwe was once a country ruled by a white minority. this country was called southern rhodesia, and it was once a british colony. it wanted independence, but the british governemnt refused to give them independence since the whites were opressing the black majority. they declared independce anyway and the black majority rebelled. the ZANU and ZAPRA (funded by the chinese and soviets) were able to throw the tyrannical governemnt out. since then the chinese backed ZANU squatched the soviet back ZAPRA and Mugabe took over.

his rule has driven his country to the ground recently. he blames the western powers for all his countries problems and even blamed AIDs on the jews and their western puppets. I was just wondering how everyone feels on the current issue, and if change is needed (and how would that be brought about?). also, did the chinese/soviets bet on the wrong horse in backing Mugabe on his rise to power?

I know he's quite anti-British and a homophobic bigot, but didn't know he's also an anti-Semite. Any specific sources?

The Western media, especially BBC, are bent on attacking him relentlessly. It's mostly because of the land seizure.

but the facts still remain, hyperinflation, martial law, and half the country asking for reforms.

He's destroyed the country. Zimbabwe has the highest inflation rate in the world. People literally cash their paychecks, then try to spend their money as fast as they can befoe its value deteriorates even further. His land "reform" amounted to land being seized and distributed to his cronies. Zimbabwe would be a lot better off without Mugabe.
