Please could the NOB's write a message of support for the striking Egyptian workers and send it to atlemk @ yahoo . com, who is translating for them. They have been asking for statements since last week.

Dear All,
The workers of Misr Spinning and Weaving Company, 27,000 strong work force, in Ghazl el-Mahallah will be going on strike 6th of April. There will be solidarity actions and protests in several other places in Cairo. As Ghazl el-Mahllah's strikes always unleashes a fresh wave of strike it is important that they do not feel alone.
This strike has been in the making for some time. In March the Textile Workers’ League activists distributed leaflets in factory today, titled “We Will Continue Escalating our Demands, Until We become the Decision-Makers,” denouncing the Labor Ministry, the company management, as well as the state-backed union officials.. accusing them of corruption and betraying their promises to improve the work conditions. The statement also criticized the skyrocketing inflation, and warned against the intimidation attempts by the company managers and State Security officers as a new strike looms..
Activists have said that last years Ramadan strike (September 2007) will be nothing like what will happen on 6th of April.
If folk here could get their union, organization or whatever to write statement of solidarity with the strikers and e-mail them to me it would be great. I'll make sure they get to the right destination Previous statements have meant a lot to them, so please just write down a few simple lines.
