Hello, my name is Christian Demant, I'm 17 years old and I live in Denmark, about 60 km from the capital, Copenhagen. I joined this forum as I found it by accident, and I had been looking for a left-wing forum with people who knew what they were talking about, for quite some time.

First, I have a confession to make. I'm not a communist and I'm not anarchist. However, I am a very red socialist and I'm very enthusiastic about it too. I'm a member of Socialistic People's Party's Youth, a youth section of the 4th biggest Danish party (biggest political youth party in Denmark), and I agree on almost every matter.

I partly registered here to talk to some people I could agree with, partly to learn something, but partly also to make sure that people know Denmark isn't just filled with right-wingers. I feel my country has taken some questionable steps to the right the last few years, and I think it's important to point out to the rest of the world, that the left-wing is very strong too. In the polls, the Socialistic People's Party (SF) just crossed the Social Democrats, and would be the 2nd biggest party in Denmark. The biggest party is called Venstre (means left), which is very misleading as they are liberals (their slogan is "Denmark's liberal party".

I doubt I need to tell you why I'm a socialist, but I'll do it anyway. It's the only way. Being a son of two doctors, I know what it means to grow up under good circumstances, and I wish for everybody to have a life as good as my life has been this far. And I am willing to give everything up to ensure all people can have that. I think politics should be build on love and common sense, instead of money, greed and 'exciting' unbalance. When I'm asked about a political issue, I instantly ask myself what would please the most people the most. How I could make most people happy. And that is in my opinion all politics is about. To ensure most people are happy. And it's not like that today, at all. I am stunned and I am really, really sad to see homeless people in the richest country in the world, but not nearly as said as when I see children starving to death because they were born in a place with poverty, black people struggling because of their skin and desperate foreigners getting kicked out of a country because of politics.

Other than that, I am in favor of one global country that covers the entire planet. I don't see any sense in having different countries with different flags and different systems. It is one planet, divided by water. Without borders we would have no wars, much more control of the economy, global democracy and it would be easier to fight poverty. I am anti-patriot, I support Barack Obama, I believe in Kofi Annan, I'm a big fan of Nelson Mandela and Villy Søvndal, I don't like Mao, Lenin or Stalin and I don't like Soviet Union. I love the idea of communism, but I would rather have socialism, or maybe something in between.

Looking forward to talk to you all!

I don't think of right-wingers when I think of Demmark, but rather Fristaden Christiania!! That neighborhood sounds like an intersting little expirament. Well, nice to meet you.

Fristaden Christiania where the police shoots civilian's dogs. It's not all good there.

Fuck the police.

Oh, welcome. And seriously, you had better watch out, you might not be an anarchist now, but given time... (You do know that anarchists have more fun right?)

Anyway, what do you think of the bullshit last year around the squat that had the army bust it (army, riot police acting like the army, same difference)?

That was so fucked up. I talked to a human rights campaigner (living in Copenhagen, I think she might be Danish), who said the reason why was the autonomen (the anarchists who pretend to be Marxists, my words, not hers) are so potentially dangerous.

I used to be anarchist, but I changed my mind. I used to go to Ungdomshuset when I was anarchist, it was a lot easier when you thought the same as the other did. But there's more love in socialism in my opinion. I was happy about the police in Copenhagen at that point. All but a few did as they were supposed to. The politicians handling it on the other hand ... That was fucked up. But I don't think the police should be blamed for that. Nobody died, very little got hurt, and the cost of reperation was minimal.
