Fear and Loathing is an excellent book ... the movie is great as well.
As an aside:
It's crazy to think that the lawyer in the film (Benicio Del Toro) will now be playing Che Guevara in 2 films later this year (although he does bear a very close resemblence now).
But since I saw Hunter S Thompson wearing a Che Guevara shirt in his documentary "Breakfast with Hunter" I guess he would be amused.

I have been unable to find that at any shops that supply Hunter S. Thompson and other counterculture books (William S. Burroughs, Abbie Hoffman, etc). But I shall keep trying.

i saw a movie that he was in, where he was denoucing facism and the government, and then booted a guy out of gathering since he asked the wrong questions. i never saw anything in him, but his book "kingdom of fear" is very good.

There's a song by Avenged Sevenfold which was influenced by Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas called "Bat Country".
