I saw a thread about the opinion of us leftists regarding gay people. Now I ask you, what's your opinion on Transsexuals?

It's complicated. There's some weird ideas about "natural" genders somehow showing up spontaneously in genetically oppositely sexed people. But if a person really wants to I see no reason to prohibit it, or discriminate against them.

My opinion:

Give it the fuck up with these kinds of threads.

They are just as human as you or I

This kind of question is not pertinent to the revolution at all.

Indeed their are, alot of people have sex change operations because they feel UNnatural or trapped in there bodies so if they want to do it , off with them . They should be granted complete rights such the same with gays & lesbians .

Indeed.

Threads of this nature are embarrassing for the forum (and i think for the members who start them) - this is the discrimination forum - and yet threads like this (and the 'what is your opinion of gay people?) subscribe to this very logic of discrimination (even if this is not the intention of the authors) - presenting trans (or gay) people as being separate from 'us' - implied in the question is that no respondents to this thread, or viewers of the forum are trans themselves - that 'they' are a separate group - a special or deviant group upon which 'we' need a position or opinion (that differs from 'our' opinion on say, anyone else as Marmot said).

The fact is trans people are just people (like gender-queers, heteros, lesbians, or red-heads), human beings - there is really very frew appropriate responses to this thread that would differ from one that asked, 'what is your opinion of humans?' That is the leftist 'opinion' of trans people, everyone deserves full freedom, justice and equality - a persons feelings on their own biological sex or gender - or there desires to effect or not effect a personal change in this regard should have no bearing on anything.

agree with previous comments, these threads make us look like very immature. trans people are no different to anyone else, end off.

I second this.

People are people, some are sound, some are bastards, but that has nothing to do with gender/sexual preference/skin colour/penis size or whatever physical/sexual charecteristic you care to mention.

Next weeks thread:- What do you think of ugly people? Seriously threads like this are just bullshit and should be deleted.
