What do you consider are the moral obligations of victims of home invasions?

Considering the fact that most ‘criminals’ are only products of a social structure that depends on victimization of a minority class, what is a victim of a break-in to do? Calling the police would result in government’s biased intervention. Doing nothing endangers fellow community members, as an invasion may become violent. Attempting to negotiate may put one’s life in danger, since a burglar could be armed and on-edge.

I believe all people are entitled to necessities, since America’s rich have more than enough…but if one should have to take, it should be from a corporation, not another individual. So what is an individual to do if caught in the unfortunate situation of victim of a break-in?

Well it depends really doesnt it.

Most people would take the attitude of "If i had a family to look after then i would shoot the fucker for endangering me and my family, as well as attempting to steal things bought by my hard earned money" and to be fair there is nothing really wrong with that attitude as you are entitled to defend yourself whatever the reasons of the criminal for breaking into your house.

But then you have to remember why alot of people break into houses and steal things in the first place (Lack of money), the trouble of course is that the person who's house is being broken into isnt going to be thinking about why this intruder is breaking into there house, just that there is an intruder in there house who must be killed or subdued.

This doesn't go in science and envronment, but since we don't have a psychology forum :glare: I guess it will do here.

The fact is that nobody deserves to be harmed - here, neither the victim or the burgler (I'm assuming that's what you were talking about). But people should defend themselves. There are plenty of methods one can use to incapacitate a violent person, and I think most people have strong friends they could use to keep him subdued and try to help him. But it's hard to do all taht effectively with small forces (nm illegal): I would say that the best option is to incapacitate the person, and either get them off your property or call a doctor / hospital which doesn't snitch if (s)he had bullet wounds in the process. Unless some dire, unavoidable circumstance called for it, the cops should NEVER be called. I called the pigs on my father when he was violent against me and my brother, and they only sided with the old bastard - they even beat my brother for cussign at them. So its hard to say what to do, each circumstance calls for different measures.

You call the fucking police if you're able and try and escape from the situation to avoid harm. Only a moron would argue to simply allow themselves to be a victim of crime because they didn't want to involve the capitalist state.
