If you live in a world that can be destroyed by a simple press on the button, is it worth to be living in constant fear ?

Now that we are talking about constant fear,
What about Saddam's constant threat to use chemical weapons against the Kurds in northern Iraque?
Like the time they used chemical weapons in 1988 killing thousands of people in a blink of an eye.
People in that region are still suffering from the after effects.
USA should come in and wipe out Saddam, and this time for real.

I agree hewson,
I dont believe in the argument " my enemy's enemy is my friend ".
The problem with this mass destruction weapons is that most people dont realize that everything they have can be destroyed with one press on the button.
If people realized that " the life on earth " can be destroyed with one finger people will start protest's.

Cold War is over.
There is no nuclear menace anymore.
Putin and Bush signed the treaty on disarment of nuclear missiles , recently.

I'm glad there is a country on earth like the USA willing to take this EXTREMELY DIFFICULT position.
Yes personal interests is also often key to their dicisions, but that is besides the point right now.
I don't know where live Mac OS Revolutionary, but if you look around you in the world you might realise that a lot of countries have received military and or financial aid to help them recover.
Remember the Marshall Plan for one?

Speaking about nukes; check out the speech by Helen Caldicott (http://www.noradiation.org/caldicott/) about nukes. She is a far-left anti-nuclear activist, I burnt one of them to disk.

I dont think it beside the point,
I you want to play police officer then at least be neutral.
If you use your power for your own interest, you aint
defending the " freedom and peace on earth "
but just your cash and oil supplies.
