A French woman severely disfigured by facial tumors has been found dead just two days after a court rejected her request for an assisted suicide.

We have on demand abortion clinics so why cant we have on demand euthanasia clinics?

Hopefully in a Socialist society we wont feel this stupid need to keep everyone alive when they themselves dont want to live.

I mean what would you rather have, someone jumping in front of a moving train, or someone going to a secure and comfortable clinic where no one is there to judge you or your decisions and where you can die in peace without any physical pain involved?

I know what i would prefer and that is the latter.

Euthanasia should not be "on demand" in the sense that it should not be possible for someone to go into a clinic and die without any kind of consultation or process to ensure that they actually have reason to die and are not making a rash decision. Anyone applying to Euthanasia should have to make a request more than once over a specified time period, and should also undergo some type of test or exam, to make sure they are not suffering from any kind of mental defect which might cloud their judgment.

However, it should be legal, and more widely accepted.

Even in a Socialist society, there will be viable candidates for Euthanasia - for example, people who are suffering from terminal illness with no hope of recovery. Very few people opt for euthanasia because they are depressed - and I don't actually know if there's any country in which this is allowed.

I think that Switzerland has an on demand euthanasia system as alot of foreigners with terminal illnesses come to Switzerland to die quicker (To stop the pain) and in peace.

There was a big debate about this in Britain because it was deemed unfair that these people had to travel all that way and spend all that money to die in a foreign country, when they should be able to have the opportunity to do it in there own country and for free (NHS).

As usual all the reactionary elements (Church of England and other religious institutions) came out to protest against any adoption of euthanasia by the NHS or private health services in Britain.
