Nope, I couldn't find it. Do you have a description of what it's about? Do you have a foreign language title, or was it published in english? Was it fiction or non-fiction?

I'll keep looking, but any info you have would be helpful.

Okay, I think I may have found what you're looking for, sort of.

I couldn't find a book by that title, but I did find the work of Bill Mauldin, a cartoonist who created the characters Willie and Joe, who were WWII soldiers. There is a book of his called Up Front available featuring Willie and Joe.

Also, I found a page that has two examples of his work. I don't know if your grandfather has access to the Net, or if you can print them out and show them to him, but here's the link:

http://www.45thdivisionmuseum.com/Mainmuse...um/Mauldin2.htm (http://www.45thdivisionmuseum.com/Mainmuseum/Mauldin2.htm)

Hope this helps,

Hee! Really, it's not a big deal. It's just a consequence of spending far too much time in libraries. Once a book geek, always a book geek, it seems. I occasionally do this at a book board, too. Now, if someone would just give me a job doing it....
