Baroness Thatcher has been taken to hospital for precautionary tests, the BBC understands. The former prime minister was driven from her home to St Thomas's Hospital on London's South Bank. No further details are currently available.
In 2005, Lady Thatcher, 82, suffered a series of strokes and was at one stage advised by doctors to refrain from making public speeches.
Lady Thatcher was UK prime minister for 11 years before being ousted in 1990.

Selling off of nationalised industries at knock off prices- Steel Industry, Coal Industry, Telecoms Industry etc which were usually precluded by massive redunacies and shut downs, leading to bitter industrial disputes, particularly in the coal industry.

Introduction of the poll tax - a system of local taxation which all had to pay regardless of wealth (the very poorest were given a subsidy) which replaced rates which was based on property value. Essentially shifting local taxes from the poor to the rich.

Introduction of right to buy legislation - Allowed council house tennants to buy their rented propertiesd at knock down prices, not to bad in itself but councils were not given the money to build new houses, which leaves us still to this day with a massive shortage in social housing.

massive underfunding of health service

scapegoating of every minority you could think of - single mothers, travellers etc

massive cuts in benefits
