There is no difference. Lenin and Trotsky agreed on all points in the end. :glare:

Well it depends who you ask really.

Trotskyists will tell you that though there may be differences between some of Lenin and Trotsky's ideas, they both ultimately believed in the same thing, and after Lenin died, Trotsky's ideas were the natural ideological successor as it were to Lenin's.

Stalinists (And its Hoxhaist and Maoist offshoots) on the other hand will tell you that Marxism-Leninism (Stalinism) is the natural evolution of Leninism and that Trotskyism represents a Revisionist threat to what they see as true Leninism.

Take your pick as to which one is telling the truth, though i am personally more inclined towards the Trotskyists than the Stalinists (Less baggage to deal with).

Either way Trotsky's ideas seem to be the closer to Lenin's, so there are only minimal differences between the two (And that is mostly in how things should be carried out).

Spartan put it just fine, I just wanted to add that at the time of the Left Opposition in the Bolshevik party in the '20-ies they identified themselves as "Bolsheviki-Leninists", the term "Trotskyist" came much later and only to avoid confusion as the Stalinists also claim to be Leninist (sic).

I really would like to find the quote between Trotsky and Lenin where they say they agree on all points. This is crucial as an argument to an that consider themselves Leninist but denounce Trotsky for they had no problems with each other in the end.
