Anyone here see it? It's not leftist, but I enjoyed it. Well some of it. There's a part where one of the lead actresses is trying to be active in protests and such and is yelling to her mother "I am Radical! You should be Radical! We should all be Radical!" As a riot against cops begins during a large protest. It was portrayed, in my view, to make the how protest idea seem silly, that we don't need to make change, "its gonna be alright." Later we see our hero tear up a few rooms of a building housing a protester HQ. Later we see these same people making bombs, with the same actress from before saying "I thought it was the other side who dropped bombs." It just had this huge, hippie, liberal tinge to it that, at those moments, I just didn't like.
So did you see it? Like it? Agree/disagree with me?

Seen it, and loved it. I was thoroughly impressed with the way the music fit the plot. But does anyone see why when Jude was singing Revolution 1 to Lucy why she was so insulted? It is deefinitely one of my favorite movies. Here's a link to where you can watch it for free:

I thought it was ok though I expected a lot more from it due to all the hype surrounding the film.

i like this movie cuz the soundtrack was full of The Beatles's songs. and also the movie's title was actually a title of one of their (the beatles) songs.

well actually everything was based on the songs. the title, most of the characters, even elements of the plot were based on the lives of the beatles.

So it's basically just the Beatles' songs portrayed cinematically? Sounds good to me.

It was good and the renditions of the music were good. Especially liked their version of "I've Just Seen a Face". Now that's one Beatles song that doesn't get enough attention.

Yeah, that site has just about every movie as soon as it comes out, even some older ones. Sometimes they're a little slow, but who's complaining?

I didn't really dig it; I just didn't think it was very cohesive.
It seemed more like a bunch of really ambitious music videos for Beatles songs, which is okay, I mean the acting wasn't terrible, and they were beautifully done; even the scenes with Bono(I am biased, because I despise Bono.) But it wasn't like watching a movie where you can note the plot progression. It didn't flow right, to me.

I hated it. But I hate The Beatles.

GTFO.
You hate EVERYTHING the Beatles have done?
Not even like, "oh I hate the early years," or "I hate the trippy psychedelic stuff?" You just hate EVERYTHING?

I agree, it was a great movie. and i was confused on the revolution 1 part too. I think the only bad part about the movie was that the singing looked and sounded fake. but It is one of my favorite movies still.

I agree and I (like Spasiba) didn't like the whole "all you need is love," horseshit that was throughout the film infact I really only liked the scenes with Dr. Roberts, the Draft scene and the Circus scene. It (over all) was a let down.
I didn't really dig it; I just didn't think it was very cohesive.
I didn't either and I was on shrooms when I saw it! :D

I haven't seen it yet. Im conflicted on whether I should spend time watching it or not. The thing is that I hate musicals(they are too boring) and I hate the beatles (too optimistic). But I have heard from people that it doesn't matter, its still a great movie. If it how you make it sound as far as the whole protest and violence thing goes I don't agree with it. While I believe violence should be a last resort and murder shouldn't be taken lightly I do acknowledge that at many times a different degree of violence is needed in order to create a better world.
