The Beatles song that is. Is it counter-revolutionary? Pretty much seems to be saying that we don't need a revolution as "its gonna be alright."
Yes? No? It's been bugging me for a while now, since I like it :crying:

I think it's more pacifist then anti-revolutionary.

Ok, I guess that makes more sense. Thanks for making me feel a bit better when I listen to that song!

"You say we want a revolution, well you know, we'd all love to see the plan" seems to be counter-revolutionary. Also the bit about if you're carrying around pictures of Chairman Mao, you won't get by anyone anyhow.
It's listed as one of the "Greatest Conservatives Songs of All Time" by some shitty bourgeoisie newspaper, forgot the name.

Well, it's usually mis-interpreted. John Lennon said in an interview that all he was saying (:P) was that the Maoists we're just so prominent and standing on the barricades etc... So he was like 'well, i don't wanna die in a revolution count me out!'. Thats almost literally what he said, he was quite vague :P. Ohw well...

Same with "Sympathy for the Devil". Damn shame, but then, Lennon also wrote Working Class Hero, so blah...

I don't know about it being anti-revolutionary, but I'm pretty sure that Lennon was anti-Maoist. I remember seeing footage of him on an American talk show (think it was Dick Cavett) denouncing the regime in China.
